Took My 2011 Toyota Camry into the shop on 11/15/2022 to have an oil change and to look over the car to get ready for the winter. On 11/15/2022 the work that was completed on my car was an oil change, brake fluid flushed/changed, rear brake pads replaced, rear brake rotors replaced, strut mount replaced, exhaust repair, engine mount replaced, along with other Maintenace. After they completed the work, I had to return to have additional work done.

On 11/25/2022 I returned to have the additional work done. The Driveshaft flex disc was replaced & it looks as though they checked & repaired the exhaust system again. Why would they do that if it was replaced on 11/15/2022. Midas need to refund me for that repair.

My complaint is when I returned to have the driveshaft flex disc replaced, I was told the work was completed. As I pulled off the lot & drove away my engine light & tracking light came on. I had to return to see why & was told that they forgot to connect cables. And also, it looks as though they stated that they did work on the exhaust system on 11/15/2022 and on 11/25/2022 & I was charged for the work.

On 12/04/2022 as I was driving home the car shut completely down. Battery light came on, engine light came on, tracking light, abs light. etc. I decided to look under the hood & there was a cut wire. I had the car towed to Midas on 12/5/2022 because I was not able to drive the car. Was told that they check the car and that everything was good except that I needed a battery. They even fixed the cut wire. I said how do I need a battery when I just got a battery in April 2022. I called the shop that replaced the battery & conf in Midas they then started saying that they needed a new battery to check to make sure it was not the alternator. Now I'm confused because I was told that the Alternator was ok.

I've missed ours of work to have my car towed & now have to have it towed again because I refuse to let them do anything else to my car. This is insane!

    Business Response

    Date: 01/25/2023

1/25/23 is the first time I'm seeing this issue. The letter we received in the mail for the BBB was dated 1/20/23. The customer received a refund of $230.00, check #****, dated 12/21/22 for reimbursement to have the vehicle towed out of our shop and to the shop, the customer had it towed too. Customer supplied the tow bill. I apologized to the customer in regards to the last service visit here and it could have been handled differently for sure. We could have put a test battery in the vehicle to see if it was a battery and/or an alternator issue, but that did not happen and it was our fault for that. That's why I reimbursed the customer the $230.00 for the second tow that should not have happened.
