    I don’t usually like to leave negative reviews but after two horrible experiences at Protech I feel obliged to warn others away from this business.
    My most recent experience, dropped an amp in for a replacement input jack. Am told 3/4 weeks max. 6 weeks later I telephone the business and am told ‘its on the bench, the tech will call you today”. I call back a week later (cos they haven’t called) and am told that they have reached out to the manufacturer for schematics but received no response… I mention that they are actually very responsive on the phone - and the staff member suggested I call them myself!!! WHAT!!!!
    I call the manufacturer and have schematics in my email in minutes. Call Protech to get an email to forward them to and the staff member spelled out an incorrect email address.
    Call back a week later, get the correct email (nobody has followed up from the store at any point so far). The amp is ready the next day however it makes a noise when changing channels and the power light no longer works.
    My other experience was with a very expensive and rare instrument. I should never have gone back after this. After collecting my instrument after a simple repair I notice that the setup of the instrument has drastically changed. The action and truss rod had been altered, there was no precedent of need to do so for the repair in question. If I had to guess, the bass was left somewhere hot or humid and somebody tried to mitigate the problems caused.
    So I call the shop, speak to the owner and am told “there is no way that could have happened”. But it did Protech, it did. The owner was not helpful at all, did not apologize and did not take responsibility for the instrument in his business’ care.
    DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING TO THIS BUSINESS. The number of horror stories I have heard from colleagues off of the back this is astounding. Look elsewhere.
