Diagnosed the cause of a clogged drain without proper assessment. Told me it would be necessary to tear into my wall and replace a pipe, the fee $1,250. The plumber left half a sink full of sludge in the sink. I had to clean the sludge after I got home from work. It sat in the sink all day. I was charged $269 for that visit. I got a second opinion from another company about the need to tear into my wall and replace my pipe. They said it would not be necessary to tear into my wall, just needed to be snaked from the exhaust pipe. The other company not only cleared that exhaust pipe but snaked the exhaust pipe from the kitchen. The fee: only $654.Edwards Plumbing & Heating, INC.

We appreciate your feedback and the opportunity to clarify the situation. Our technician accurately diagnosed the issue based on the condition of your plumbing system, which consists of aging galvanized pipes. These pipes corrode over time, leading to recurring blockages that will continue unless properly replaced.
Instead of recommending a temporary solution, we provided a permanent fix to prevent ongoing issues and repeated service calls. While another company was able to clear the line through the vent stack, this is only a short-term remedy. Unfortunately, given the condition of your pipes, you may experience the same problem again.
Regarding the cleanup, our responsibility is to diagnose and address plumbing issues, not to remove waste that is already present in a customer’s plumbing system. Our technicians do their best to leave the work area as tidy as possible, but any residual material from the plumbing system itself remains the homeowner’s responsibility.
Our pricing reflects the quality of materials, the expertise of our technicians, and the longevity of the repairs we provide. While we understand that different companies take different approaches, our goal is always to provide long-term solutions rather than quick fixes that lead to repeated expenses. If you pay 600+ as the other company charged over and over it is going to cost a lot more than the $1,250.00 we were going to charge to replace that old galvanized line so that the problem is permenantly repaired. It only needs to happen one more time for you to spend more than double.
If you have any further concerns, we are happy to discuss them with you. Customer satisfaction is a priority for us, and we stand by the integrity of our recommendations.

WOMEN BEWARE: Incredibly disappointed in this company and they should be ashamed of themselves. My mom, who is an older single woman living alone, was taken advantage of by this company and I would absolutely not recommend them to even my worst enemy. She has had a broken toilet for a few weeks and has called this company twice for help. The first time she was charged $300.00 dollar bill and was told the gentleman had fixed the problem. Within the same day, the same problem persisted. We called back and the same young gentleman came back. He was very rude both times and made my mom uncomfortable which is completely unacceptable. During the second visit, shes told she needs a completely new toilet, when we should have been made aware of this the first time and never have been charged for the fix. I am involved now and will find a more reputable company for her because as a woman and as someone in the customer service industry, Im disgusted. I know this company will more than likely take no action but I felt I needed to leave this review and do the community a service.Edwards Plumbing & Heating, INC.

Unfortunately it is impossible to appropriately respond to this as we have never done business witn you so your name is not going to show up in our system. I will say that we had an issue where a lady did have a toiltet repair and after the technician said she needed a new toilet we did recieve a complaint. That complaint was forwarded to me and I responded to my management telling them to take the funds that were already paid for the repair and apply those funds to a new toilet discounting the price in full that the client paid towards a new toilet. This solution is more than generous and more than most companies would to. The toilet was working when we we left and the client opted for repair instead of replacment from the beginning so technically this is not something we have to do and most companies would not be so generous. That is what makes us different. We want to keep our clients for life. Here is the next problem. We called the client 3 times and sent text and she did not answer the phone or respond to text. We can not help someone that is not communicating. That being said, I am only assuming this situation and review are related to each other. I can not confirm that but it just happened so the likely hood is high. Your mom needs to answer her phone or call us back if this is indeed what happened. She can call ************ and ask for *******************. We are very proud that we go above and beyond for all of our clients. There is no shame and we are far from disgusting. That is a lot to say for someone that was not there nor did any business with us.Review fromDENISE P

***** came to my home to repair a water heater. Very pleasant and professional, finished the job and went out of his way to leave to get the part and come back to finish the job. However, I opted for an email receipt which came but it did not have a breakdown of costs just the total that I paid. What company doesn't give a breakdown of costs to the customer? This was Tuesday May 23 and It's Thursday now and I have been requesting an itemized receipt since Tuesday, because ************************ will reimburse the parts. I have been told it has to go to accounting, I have also been told that the man that handles the receipts is really busy. I have asked to speak to a manager and was told they will have him call me. My next avenue is going to the shop in Dearborn to get to the bottom of this. Very frustrated with this company. Today is now May 31 Day 8 Can't reach anyone in management, they say no one is in. I still can't get an itemized receipt from anyone. Please don't use this company.Edwards Plumbing & Heating, INC.

First of all we were unknowingly called out to deal with another companies problem. My tech told you it was under warranty and gave the option of waiting for the part from the Mfg. You wanted your ************* and told him you would just pay for it. We did nothing wrong here. ***** was professional and was clear to you the entire time. You opted for him to go hunting the part down and supplying it to you instead of waiting for the Mfg. 1. We did not install this tank or supply this tank to you. This is not our warranty issue. I listened to the call when you called in. You did not say anything about this being a warranty issue. If it was our warranty issue then we would have a bright shiny 5 star review from your experience. We would have come to your home for free, diagnosed the issue for free, because when you paid full price for the original service you paid for that cost of doing business. At that point the Mfg would have sent you new parts to your home for free and the next step would be for you to call us back out and install them. Next because we are not liable for Mfg defect we would of charged a nominal fee that the Mfg would reimburse you for. A fee that is much less than it should be. A fee we take a loss on because it cost more to pay the techs wages and drive to your home then the mfg reimburses you for. However, we would have taken that loss to provide a superb service to our customer. 2. A lot of costs goes into the pricing for home service. Fuel, wages, insurance, the ad you clicked to call us. These are all part of the price. We are not going to itemize this and no company will. You did not hire us to remodel your bathroom for time and material. You hired us to replace a part and we gave you a bill to replace that part. That is what we charged you for. The cost of the part is the bill you received. 3. You called us in the middle of a heat wave. We are all hands on deck busy trying to take care of clients that have no cooling. Management that is normally in the office is out trying to help people because we are getting 3 times the calls due to the quick change in weather. Our staff is trained to deal with our issues. Not another companies issues. They gave you exactly the answer they should have. If this was our problem it would of never came to this point because nothing would of been handled in this manner. We would of worked with your Mfg and you would not be asking for an itemized receipt. It would not be necessary. 4. You should of called the company that installed the water heater so this could have been handled properly for you. We are not obligated to itemize your invoice explaining every detail of what goes into the price. Itemized bill is not on the price of anything you buy unless you are hiring a company on the basis of pure labor, time, and material. It's more complicated than that. Itemized bills are not done on a car, a watermelon, or home. You got an itemized bill when we gave you the price for the part same as if you bought a watermelon, car, or home. Next time call the company back that you bought it from otherwise you are going to pay full price to cover all hard and soft costs to come to your home.Review fromK. V

1 starI would give them zero stars if I could. This company is a fraud and scam. I was quoted $189 for a snake drain with a camera after water backed up all over the floor. They set the appt with a 7 hour window! Most places have a 4 hour window. That should have been my first warning. After waiting and checking in all day, the technician was a no-show. I again called and found the staff to be disrespectful and rude. Eventually, "******" responded to the call that night, with no camera, and unbeknownst to me, he charged 3 times the quoted amount. He refused to arrive prior to getting credit card info over the phone. Once he arrived, he promised a receipt that never came. I learned of the overcharge once getting my credit card statement. To make matters worse, he failed to fix the problem. I will be reporting them to the State as well. They are the worst company I have ever dealt with and can't imagine why the are still in business. I called repeatedly for the manager (I was give the name of ****), and he never returned any of my calls.
