***********************, the owner of Third Generation Excavating, agreed to hydroseed and bury the downspouts at my property on *************. He quoted me $4,375 for the hydroseed and $70 per downspout, totaling $4,655.Work began on September 13, 2023, while I was out. Returning, I saw them piling dirt in the back, covering downed trees and other debris. I wasn't keen on the resulting "hill" and asked for its removal. ****** reluctantly complied. After again inspecting the hill, I still found it too high and asked for further reduction. ****** asked for payment, stating he would return the next day. I paid ****** the full amount by check. The next morning, ****** continued the work. Before leaving for work, I reiterated my request for a flat yard. By noon, I discovered the yard hydroseeded without confirming the grade with me. Despite my reservations, I decided to maintain the hydroseed based on online advice, as ****** provided no guidance.Weeks later, I noticed the meticulous care another company took with my neighbor's hydroseedingclearing rocks and debris, something ******** team did not do. Their hydroseed was also thicker, resulting in better growth compared to mine. The "hill" soon caused drainage issues, creating a puddle. I texted ****** about it on October 26, 2023, with no reply. In early 2024, other landscapers critiqued the grading and debris, estimating up to $18,150 for repairs. On April 16, 2024, I had the downed trees removed, further showcasing the excessive dirt ****** pushed up against them.I called ****** on April 23, 2024 for a resolution, but he was "too busy" and unresponsive to follow-up texts showing the poor grass and puddle. On June 6, 2024, I called again, only to be dismissed. ****** claimed I approved the hydroseed application, which I didn't. He ended the call abruptly, citing an overheating truck. After several failed attempts to resolve this with ******, I'm now seeking a refund of $4,375 for the unsatisfactory hydroseed service.
