Went to Meijer store in Brunswick OH Dec/2022. Cashier ripped me off for about $4.00. Live far away so I could not rerurn with my receipt for a refund. (due to gas prices) THEN...they started sending me emails. I called and told them to STOP SENDING ME EMAILS. Got a report number of 02974967. It is now May 8. 2023 and the emils are still being sent to me. I NEVER gave them my email address so they must have gotten it since I used a credit card. The actions of the Meijer store/company are UNETHICAL, TO SAY THE LEAST!!! I WILL NEVER GO INTO THEIR STORE AGAIN. (I had called a 2nd time and got a 2nd report number...they still didnt stop harrassing me with their emails. How do they even stay in business???

The Avon Indiana store is a mess. Not very clean or nice. They never have enough product for their sales/coupons/ discounts that you advertise to get you in the store. I asked for help from an associate & she was nice & called store director who refused to help. Then Talked to customer service and they said “what do you want ME to do about it” in a tone like he wasn’t interested in helping. I said nothing I’ll just submit a review. Then he quickly said he would get my info to the store director & I said the girl who works there talked to that person & they wouldn’t help and them he rudely said “what girl? did you talk to someone who worked at the store and what’s her title? I said yes of course they worked there and I didn’t know her title. She was an employee that’s all I know. He said something about oh do you mean she’s a customer something or other and I said I didn’t know bc I don’t work there and I don’t know their official titles. I was over him and this store at this point!! By the way, I haven’t received a call or email from anyone about this.

I order groceries (all ebt approved food) for delivery on their app. They charge an authorization fee of 4.95 to my debit (which is fine) and the food balance to my EBT card. Afterwards the $4.95 is supposed to be canceled. What’s actually happened the past few times is my debit gets charged AGAIN for a higher amount. If I’m buying all food why are they charging my debit at all if it’s not the prior authorization hold? Beyond that, their delivery drivers have left over $500 in groceries sitting on my front porch in the rain. All the meat, ice cream, fruit, perishables, hundreds of dollars in food, trash. I’ve said MULTIPLE times, and put it in the delivery instructions to knock on the door when they bring them to prevent this very thing. They still don’t for whatever reason. I call Meijer after it happens for a THIRD time and they compensate me with a promo code on my account, $20 off of $50. No where near the $100’s of dollars lost in groceries. After it happens 2 more times I call them again and they have me call Shipt says their driver flat out lies, saying they handed them directly to a male at my house. Which is ludicrous because there is no men living in my house and I was the only one home at the time. Sitting in my recliner near the door. I would have instantly heard someone knock. Shipt takes them at their word. Like I’m basically lying. Why would they take a picture, which is on the order receipt, of the groceries on my porch, with my front door shut if they handed them to someone? It makes no sense. Additionally, I shouldn’t be the one having to deal with SHIPT at all. I paid MEIJER for my groceries and delivery. Not Shipt. Meijer satisfaction guaranteed spiel is a lie and their customer service is garbage.

I shopped here one time and about two months after I received a letter from Meijer with coupons in the mail. The coupons were specifically targeted toward the exact things I purchased. It was almost as if my entire shopping list that day was converted to coupons. The letter was addressed to me by name. This raises a serious concern over how customers data is being recorded and used by Meijer. I do not have an account with them, I did not agree to any terms or conditions regarding them recording my purchase data, name, or home address. I have no idea how they got this information other than from the debit card I paid with. It was extremely creepy.

On 3/1/23 I purchased 2 packages of ground beef for the "Buy One Get One 50% Off of equal or lesser" sale. I was charged full price for the second package. I got sick the day after and was not able to return for a price adjustment until 3/15/23 at that time I was denied the adjustment ($6.66) because it was not within 7 days of purchase. I have searched your website and cannot find any mention of a 7-day return window.

Honestly, nothing but bad experiences at this store. Due to my experiences at this location I no longer feel safe shopping here. In fact, I do not even shop at other Meijers without my wife present. It is shameful. I have been discriminated against for my disability and sexually harassed by management at this location. Thank you for opening my eyes to the heartlessness that is Meijer.

Terrible no respect for the paying customer. Poor customer service understaffed frustrated employees and the audacity to want to rummage through my purchase because you have internal issues and say it's to make sure you scanned under the cart. I will take my business to **** and *****.

I   am completely appalled at Meijer’s customer service. I received a delivery order and the shopper was permitted to make the most asinine substitutions which cost me more money. Without even attempting to contact me. Additionally, the shopper was practically unreachable after being three hours late. An example of my substitutions are: an order for a Valentine heart replaced with melts to make candy with. Cheese and crackers replaced with french onion dip. I realize brand substitutes is a thing though I had no idea the shopper had so much control over how my money was spent. I called and was told by the representative that my entire order would be refunded within a few business days and then I received this email a week later. “I apologize for your recent experience regarding your order. Providing a positive customer experience is a priority at Meijer and I would like to thank you for taking the time to communicate your concern. If we plan to succeed in the future, we depend on our customers to provide us with honest feedback. We have denied your refund request. When you have any brand substitutions, the shopper can substitute anything they feel is close. I reviewed the substitutions and they are acceptable under any brand heading. In the future, if you change that to no substitutions, you won't run into this issue. I am sorry to hear they ran late for you, I have added points to your mPerks in the amount of 10,000 points. I sincerely hope we have the opportunity to serve you again in the future. We appreciate your business.” I have used Meijer online frequently in the past. I realize that Meijer doesn’t care about the loss of one customer though they have certainly lost my business.

Everytime I go shopping at Meijer I see overcharges on my bill for advertised sale items or prices different from tags on the shelves. They're making a fortune by overcharging and raising prices on their items. The shelves are empty on items that are staples and advertised in their weekly ads. They rely on customers to check themselves out because they're not hiring an adequate staff for checkout lanes. The self checkouts are backed up to the nines and even though they have two checkout sections one is always closed. They claim they can't hire one person to watch 8 people checkout. They're saving money by not hiring cashiers or even help to monitor the self checkouts. I called customer service only to get repeatedly hung up on. Phones are not a priority. They don't answer them in the departments and constantly have no acceptable answers for their incompetence in meeting the needs of customers. Corporate greed is obvious and customer service is not a priority. They freeze their meats and baked goods before setting them out. Customers don't know they've been frozen. Consequently refreezing them without knowing they've been already frozen and thawed poses a health risk. They all should be marked prefrozen to ensure customers know. Many items on the shelves are past the expiration dates. Many items they advertise in their wkly papers are unavailable and used to lure customers in the stores to either substitute or just to shop for other items. They're constantly without carts in the store. This poses a problem for seniors trying to find a cart to shop with. They're in business to serve customers and the level of frustration and anger at the level of inconvenience they're put through is unacceptable. They need to be investigated for price gouging, overcharging on advertised and sticker prices they advertise. Many seniors use designated transportation and the timelines conflict with the long lines to checkout. They also have inoperable checkouts too.
