  I've had the opportunity to use Local Moves for some small moving jobs, twice in the last 8 months. The first job, was moving about a dozen large items that another mover, unceremoniously, dumped in my barn, because they were too tired and lazy to carry the items, 100 feet across my front lawn, because of the strange layout of my house. I called and spoke with *****, and he said, 'no problem'. He and his assistant, ******, showed up a few minutes early, and after discussing the best way to get everything to the house, they got busy, and had everything in it's designated spot within an hour. I have to add that, there was a slight drizzle that day, and they made sure to cover the items that they moved, and also removed their shoes every time that they entered my house, so as not to track anything from their shoes, into the house. This is something that I didn't even ask them to do. I really thought that that was a nice touch. On the second occasion that I used Local Moves, it was to help move some furniture from my recently deceased father's apartment at the ************* that he lived in. I was running a little behind that morning, so I told ***** to start the clock, and go get breakfast and I would pick up the tab for him. When I arrived, he had found the building manager, and had setup for the easiest way for him and his assistant, ******, to move the furniture from a third floor apartment, down three flights of stairs, and directly to the parking lot, where they had their van already set up. The move from the apartment went quick and easy, at least for me. The one thing that made me realize that choosing Local Moves was the right choice, was watching both *****, and ******, interact with every resident that they came across. It may have been a simple, 'hello', or 'how are you today', but for some of the residents, that is the only contact with someone from outside of the facility that they have. Those simple gestures, definitely weren't lost on me. The unload part of the move went smooth as silk. We loaded the items from their large moving truck, to the bed of my pickup, and we were able to drive everything right to the front door. And even though we weren't quite ready to move everything into it's final place, they were more than patient while we did some quick cleaning, before we placed the new furniture where the old furniture was. They even helped move the old furniture to another part of the house, where it could be stored until a charity could come and pick it up. Both of my experiences with Local Moves were extremely positive, and I would definitely hire them in the future. Their professionalism, as well as their personal touch definitely put them on the top of my call list, and would definitely recommend them to others looking for a local mover.
