*** from Timmons painting and maintenance was referred by a close friend to come fix/replace my elderly grandmother’s toilet. He replaced toilet and the pipe underneath it in the basement and charged her $2000. He then wanted to replace some other pipes and water lines in the basement and put it a new furnace as it was old and wires were burnt. He didn’t show up on several occasions, then finally did. He promised a 12 month warranty on supposed “new furnace” we now find out this furnace is the SAME 1999 furnace based on the serial number sticker that he ripped off and hid! He replaced all the parts in same old furnace and put a different door on the furnace (janitrol door) janitrol brand was discontinued in 1992. He charged her $20,000 for a “new furnace” and some pipes. He never provided an itemized bill statement or any paperwork or warranty information on this claimed “new furnace” he did not put in a new furnace and if he would have he would have needed a permit which he didn’t have. He took full advantage of my elderly grandmother, knowing that my grandfather has a traumatic brain injury. He has been paid in total over $22,000 for a job that would have costed $10,000 at most and she doesn’t even have a new furnace that he said he was putting in. She is owed a very large refund that she sadly probably won’t see because he is obviously a scam artist.

Here are the receipts. He paid her back $15,000 to avoid having legal action taken because he didn't think he would get caught. Although, the total was 22,000, my grandmother was willing to settle and accept anything that he would pay her back and does not want to proceed with any legal actions. So really, he is still ahead about $5000 at least and still "won" as all he did was install a toilet, a pipe and some "new parts" on a 20 year old original furnace.  I want to make sure that he never does this to anyone ever again as he clearly prays on the elderly or anyone else that may not know how much these things are supposed to cost. Thank you for your time.

We met *** ******* in January of 2022 to initially do painting for the interior of our home. We paid him $7500 to do painting, drywall, and trim work. The inside of the house was painted and this was completed in June 2022. In February 2022, he said he could renovate both of our enclosed front and side porches, including installing a laundry area in one and a barn roof replacement. We then paid him another $6000 for the second project. The latter project was never done and we requested our funds back in June 2022 and he said he would refund the money. There have been many phone calls and texts made to *** ******* for almost a year and we only receive excuses with no refund. He dropped off an unsigned, undated check for $6000 in person few months ago. After this in early 2023, he said he mailed the $6000 to our home and it never arrived. We want this issue resolved by being paid our money back via a bank check for $6000. Thank you.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

We have been "going around in circles" dialoging with *** ******* for over a year with his promises that are not kept in regard to paying the $6000 back for work that was never done.

    Sincerely,

Mr *** Timmons had taken my money for a down payment on a house project I had hired him for as of summer 2022. He has made countless promises on starting “next week” or a certain day but never called or showed up. Finally, I have gotten annoyed and decided to fire Mr Timmons from the project I hired him for after countless of promises and excuses of not starting the job. I had fired him during Autumn of 2022 and had demanded for my down payment money back. Since then, he has made more promises on giving back my money but never shows up or calls on the day he had promised. We still have not received our down payment back and are now dealing with him with our lawyer. Mr Timmons had also told us about a substantial rebate check he would give us if we would give him the rest of the money for the project to him even before he started anything. He had done deck work to one our neighbors house and his work was not up to code and failed inspection. He had told me the inspector “was too picky”. I had called the inspector to ask about Mr Timmons and he said his work is not up to code. Our neighbors finally gave up on having him fix his work and decided to fix it himself.

September, *** Timmons received $3,500 for a house remodel as down payment. My home is 3 bedroom 2 bath. He stated it would take 4 days to complete, he'd bring pods, and all this extra and free stuff. It is now December, I've paid him a total of $5,000 he told me he needed to continue working on my home and has only completed 1 bedroom and the livingroom.
