Important Information

This business is BBB Accredited.

BBB accredited business seal

BBB has determined that Computer Samurai meets BBB accreditation standards, which include a commitment to make a good faith effort to resolve any consumer complaints. BBB Accredited Businesses pay a fee for accreditation review/monitoring and for support of BBB services to the public.

BBB accreditation does not mean that the business's products or services have been evaluated or endorsed by BBB, or that BBB has made a determination as to the business's product quality or competency in performing services.

Additional Info

On 6/23/15, Computer Samurai informed BBB their business name was being used by unknown parties in regard to an ongoing computer scheme. The scheme involves a computer virus, referred to as ransomware, which locks up users' computers making them inoperable. Victims are then prompted, via a pop-up message on their screen, to call an 800 or 877 number, which is purportedly a computer helpline. However, this number belongs to scammers who are likely operating from overseas. When they answer phone calls from the public, they claim to be Computer Samurai and reference the company's BBB Accreditation and rating in an effort to get people to trust them and turn over their credit card information in exchange for their 'assistance.' However, Computer Samurai is not affiliated with this scheme or these unknown parties. If your computer is locked up by a virus, BBB advises you to seek the help of a technical expert and ignore any pop-up messages you receive via your computer in regard to any helpline you're supposed to call. BBB also advises against paying unknown parties ransom to unlock your computers, as there is no guarantee they will do so.
