Erickson Building *** (*** Erickson - *********, **) was contracted to do Roof/Siding replacement. We are now over 7 months into the process of trying to work with this contractor to resolve damage done to our property. We have called multiple times, left messages and there is no response. We have expressed the urgency in finalizing since we are in the process of moving, *** promises to correct issues but never follows through.

      Business Response

      Date: 05/18/2023

The roofing work was completed last October and the siding work was negotiated over winter with Insurance and once settled the siding work was completed in late February.  We completed the steel siding work in the cold winter so the work would be completed in a timely manner so that the homeowner could list their home on the market.  Unfortunately, cold weather is more risky to work in with materials, especially on a full 2-story, and a small chip was found in the patio door on one sash and two small scratches on window.

*** asked the homeowner if they wanted ** to fix the damage or take a damage credit since the damage was minor and or easily repairable with repair kit - per ******** Windows with a repair kit.  The ********* came back with a request for a $5800 credit for the work. Replacement sash and the cost would be $800 for ******** Sash  plus $100 per scratch to buff.  The ********* then requested $1700 and *** said that he would make repairs. After further negotiations the ********* and *** settled on $1500 for a damage credit plus *** is waiting on an ******** window touch-up kit to make a small repair.  *** shared the receipt from ******** Windows with ********* -confirmation of kit ordered.

Their complaint has no merit, since the work was completed in a timely manner and *** was working with the ********* to resolve the damage concern.  The ********* have sold their house, we have emails back and forth stating the agreed amount for Final Invoice and balance due.  We feel they were trying to demand unreasonable compensation for the damage and using the BBB complaint as leverage.  At the time of ******'s complaint, *** was actively working to resolve this.... and a week before that, *********************** was complimenting *** on the quality roofing and siding work.
