The UnitedHealthcare system has proven to be frustratingly inefficient. Despite repeated attempts, I was unable to retrieve the necessary documents via their provided links, which were non-functional. Consequently, I resorted to requesting the documents by mail, a process that was not only slow, requiring a 7 to 10 business day wait, but also error-prone. The documents I received were incomplete, missing information on several family members, despite my having verified these details during my phone interaction with their service team. This experience calls into question the reliability and effectiveness of their customer service systems.UnitedHealth Group

This is the worst health care company that I have ever dealt with as a healthcare professional. When I call for our patients in regard to a denial that they have received for their medication... it take's such a long time just to get someone on the phone... and then when you do get someone on the phone... it's not the correct place... even though I have entered the correct prompts on the phone. Then when they are transferring me the phone disconnects... and I have to start the process over again. As I write this today... I am on the phone working on getting an issue resolved for one of our patients who uses gentamicin irrigation solution which is a compounded medication that they instill into their bladder to prevent UTI'S. The mother of the patient spent 90 minutes on the phone... and did not get any place. I finally after going through three different customer service representatives got to someone that helped me... and got me to the correct place the first time. United Health Care paid for this medication for the first month... and then it was denied. Once something has been approved... provided that there are no changes to that medication, it should be grandfathered in... and continue to be approved through the deration of the policy period. Things like this make it so that families have to decide if they are going to get the medication that their kids need to keep them healthy... or if they are going to pay for food for their family to eat No family should have to make that decision... or worry about their child being admitted to the hospital because they got an infection due to not having access to the medication they need because the insurance companies decide they don't want to pay for something that is needed. This is something that needs to change... as insurance companies have too much say over what the patients need to be taking. This is one of the reasons why people are very hesitant to seek out medical care... and this really needs to change.UnitedHealth Group

This company never has my medications in stock and has repeatedly said my medications are shipping to me and then they never ship. Thankfully my medications are crucial for survival. The website and text medication updates are out of sync and neither can be trusted as informational. I was only offered to be put on a waiting list for medication after I called customer service for medication updates three times. If you are a customer with recurring auto-refills should you not already be on a medication waitlist? Overall a really disappointing experience and I feel for the staff who has to field the constant calls of confusion from frustrated customers.UnitedHealth Group

received a letter in mail saying my data was breached by a hacker. Letter has no contact info other than a PO box in **********. Googling around their website it is difficult to find a phone number or contact form. Company is shirking their responsibility to handle personal sensitive data. I have no idea how they came into contact with my data or why it was lost. I would like them to tell me what was lost and delete all information from their systems... is that really too much to ask?UnitedHealth Group

Our company just switched to UHC in January. I am an amputee since birth and in 25 years of working with my company -i have never had an issue with getting my prosthesis covered. They immediately denied coverage. I am also a bariatric patient and the team of doctors that has been with me since the beginning can now not give me the care needed - i have to go through an alternate plan with a monthly fee on top of medication cost. Hands down the WORST WORST WORST experience i have ever had with insurance.UnitedHealth Group

You would think that "in network" means in network. But no. The robbers at United have come up with "in network" and "customer **********************", one of which has a $200 deductible per family member and $400 per family, but the other one has $1000 per member and $2000 per family!!! And they put that little tidbit in the finest of prints. Of course, providers are all too happy to tell you they are "in network". Read the fine print three times over, else you end up paying premiums AND most of your medical expenses.United are giving loan sharks a run for their money. Go somewhere else for your insurance.UnitedHealth Group

1 starI have been trying to get a letter that shows the proof of insurance (ex: ***** ********* Number, Start date of policy, type of policy). It has been 1 month across multiple support channels and they are unable or unwilling to deliver this letter. It should be illegal to operate a healthcare business with no regard for timelines, customer service, or follow through on promises. It is honestly a tragedy that this is one the largest providers in the country. This is a simple request, not even one requiring any technical or medical knowledge.
