      We have experienced very poor communication from Northwoods Bookkeeping, with very delayed to no response. They charged $3K as per our agreement and took the money from our company, but then did not provide any service to us. The owner is the person that we were working with. She was going to set up QuickBooks for us and get our 2023 information up to date. We were never given access to anything with QuickBooks - we were not given a login or anything to be able to check in on the progress. We are waiting for a response to our notice of termination and request for refund. I expect my request will go ignored and we will have to file a lawsuit. We have received extremely unprofessional service. We have received NO service, actually. At the end of June we went to the address listed for her business to check in on where she was at with the progress, as we were not having success in getting replies to our emails. She was "in Florida for a bookkeeping conference". She seemed offended that we went to try to talk to her in person. Another person at the location called her to let her know we had been there. Finally, we received an immediate text and phone call response from her and were able to talk about a few things, including the very poor communication. I thought we were back on track. She gave immediate replies for about two weeks and then when I sent a follow up email to a question that she had not answered (regarding timeframe of the work), she quit responding again. I sent an email to her July 31st to terminate the service agreement and request a refund. Still no response. I sent a letter via certified mail on August 1st, 2024. No response. This wasn't the first time she went AWOL. In April after over a month of no response to my emails, I finally got in touch with her and she said she had been on vacation. She never apologized for any of the times that she was missing in action. Seems to be a scam. Think twice before hiring this company.
