Subject: Complaint Against Contractor ***** ****** I am writing to file a formal complaint against the contractor, ***** ******, regarding incomplete projects that he was hired to complete. Despite several attempts to address the issue, Mr. ****** has failed to complete the work and has been unresponsive to my requests for resolution.Specifically, the project involving the doors and walls remains unfinished, and Mr. ****** has been giving me the runaround for the past week. Despite being paid for the job, he has refused to come back and complete the work as agreed upon. While I understand his argument that the job should be completed before full payment, I have text message documentation proving that he has acknowledged the incomplete work.I initially trusted Mr. ****** based on previous successful projects he completed for me. However, his lack of follow-through on this particular task has left me with no choice but to seek alternative solutions. I am requesting that Mr. ****** either fulfills his commitment to complete the remaining work or reimburses me for the incomplete portion so that I can hire another contractor to finish the walls and doors.I appreciate your attention to this matter and ask for your assistance in resolving this dispute promptly.Sincerely,******** *.Business Response

I went to the customers home after we were called to look at door frames that were incorrectly installed and after seeing the door frames it was obvious that the doorway was much larger than the door frame itself. It was a complete mess and I told the customer that we could make it better but it wasnt going to be perfect because the doors she bought were not the right size and we would have to buy all kind of trim to fill the gaps that would be left after we fabricated the door trim which was to match up to the 123 year old trim that was there and I indeed was able to match up the trim and fill the gaps. The work was done in stages, we repaired the wall around the door frames first which the plaster was destroyed by the first contractors and the homeowner. We knocked out the loose plaster and replaced it with new plaster. The customer was very happy with the repair and said it was much better than she expected and she paid us for that work. The second stage was to build the door frames from scratch over the repaired door frames which took us a total of 10 hours and two visits to complete. Once again the customer was happy with the door frame repair and we were paid and left. The third phase to smooth out any area that was not covered by the trim that we did a repair on and not the whole wall or any other area that we did not work and thats whats was done was a mud job to smooth out 1 small section of the bath wall and that was done. I went back to the property twice after I left and got paid to correct issues that the customer noticed after we left. The problem began when every other day the customer seemed to notice something else she wanted fixed. As per our conversation about the trim not being perfect like a door frame straight from the factory, unfortunately this is what the customer started to want even though her door from did not fit the doorways and we went above and beyond to make her current situation look much better since she refused to buy the correct frames and doors for her house so now the customer is attempting to get free work in addition to her being upset that I refused to work on a closet door and a back entry because just like the hall doorways, she had previous contractors work on those as well and they were jacked up as well and she want me to spend an enormous amount of time trying to rig them up for next to nothing in labor cost so I opted out of that work all together so now she has an attitude and my intention is not to offer her ANY KIND of refund for all the work the we have done and the way she is being deceptive making it seem like she gave me money and I never came back is slanderous to say the least. This lady had some kind of mental issues because she text me at least two times a week coming up new issues every time I was contacted of the course of a few months! In addition to the working environment with cigarette and weed smoke!! I have included all the separate Venmo payments that was paid after each separate job that the customer was satisfied with otherwise she wouldnt have paid us and I never asked her for a dime up front all that was paid was after a job COMPLETION!!Customer Answer

I am writing to address the response from ***** ****** concerning my experience with his services.
Initially, I was pleased with the small jobs he completed, and I made payments through Venmo and Cash App without issue. However, things changed when we began discussing a larger interior door project. During that time, he suggested that if I paid him in cash, he could offer me a better deal moving forward.
He quoted me for plastering the walls and preparing them for painting, but unfortunately, the work he completed did not meet my expectations. I for replacement of door casings, which he never fully finished. On one of his last visits, he worked for about an hour and then stated that he needed to let the plaster dry and would return with more materials in a few days.
Regrettably, after that point, communication deteriorated. He indicated that I should not have paid for incomplete work, despite previously assuring me that paying in cash would result in a better deal.
I want to emphasize that my experience has been frustrating, as my home has remained in disarray for weeks while I awaited his return. I have retained numerous text messages that clearly contradict his statements.
For anyone considering his services, I strongly advise caution. My experience has been less than satisfactory, and I hope others can learn from it.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.Customer Answer

Unfortunately, "*****", ******** ****, has some other issues that she needs to address, all of our transactions were done via venmo and I have never required her to pay cash, nor did i ask her to pay before any work was completed! I have all the before pictures showing the deplorable condition of her doorways prior to us correcting them. The good work that we performed is the reason why we were paid for each job at the time of completion. Her house was and still is in a complete mess with the exception of the work we did! We came up with a plan to correct he mess that was there when we got there. We did a fantastic job on the door frames and she was very happy and paid me with no issue. Now at this point , I think she is mad because when she slandered my company and my name on ********, I responded with facts and all the people who at first were in here favor turned on her after i put up screenshots of all the times that she paid me for each and every service proving her wrong on every level! She is just plain out mad that i told her that i would not be doing any further work on her messed up doors and doorways remaining in her home because it was not worth my time and i was losing money trying to create doorways from scratch and i'm absolutely sure that a big company would charge her an arm and a leg and she cant afford to pay that and thats why she wants to exploit small companies to do the work and try to get free work and all of her claims are false and she just cant take no for an answer. I'm not sure if this lady thinks that i'm uneducated and don't know any better or if she is just a ***** trying to take advantage of a small business. Either way, i will not be doing any further work for this person!

I have reviewed the business' response and am rejecting it because:
I find it very disheartening to hear ***** ******' response, as the information he provided is entirely false.
As I mentioned previously, he performed well on smaller tasks, such as changing out faucets, replacing light bulbs, and even installing a smoke detector, for which I paid him. After gaining my trust, I felt comfortable enough to bring him on to another property for a larger job. He came out, provided a bid, and insisted on receiving it via text message. He assured me that this was his area of expertise and that I was in good hands.
After making an initial payment of $600 or $650 I cant remember at the top of my head, but you cant see pictures below to reference back to. He suggested that if I went to the *** for the remaining balance, he could offer me a better deal. I ended up paying him $700 in cash, and I have the *** receipt and bank records to verify this transaction.
***** ****** should be held accountable for the damage he caused to my home. He misrepresented his abilities and took on jobs that he clearly was not qualified to perform. I have recently spent an additional $1,800 with a contractor to repair the damage he inflicted on my property. All I requested was for him to finish the walls, but he refused to do so.
***** is now suggesting that the job was too complicated for him, despite having provided a bid for it and receiving exactly what he requested. If I expressed dissatisfaction after paying him, it was because he had gained my trust and led me to believe that paying him in cash would result in a better deal.
I want to warn others about ***** ******. He has the potential to either steal from you or cause significant damage to your property. I have attached text messages that demonstrate my repeated attempts to have him finish the work on my doors, and I continually received the runaround. I have plenty more messages if they need to be printed and sent to the Better Business Bureau.
Please be cautious and avoid using ***** ******. You dont have to take my word for it, but I assure you that you may find yourself filing a similar complaint with the BBB.
Sincerely,
******** ****
