      Never will do business with them again. Bought a $1,000 salt system use it for almost 5 months and the cell went out. The company that makes the system said to take it back to Kasten for a replacement. Kasten still made us pay another $208. Plus tax for a new one. Not a very good place to do your business with.

      Upon review of the complaint and further investigation into the matter, we are providing you a summary of the communication between *** ******** (consumer), **** ********* (Kasten Pool and Spa Department Manager), and ********* ******** (****** **** ********* *******). In addition, upon request, we can provide copies of the purchase receipt and ****** **** ********* ***** Limited Warranty for the subject equipment (included with the item at purchase).

      Mr. ******** visited Kasten with a problem regarding the readout of his salt system. Mr. ********* provided Mr. ******** with the Carvin Tech Support number to assist in diagnosing the problem. 



      Thursday, May 25, 2023

      Mr. ********* received an email from Mr. ******** stating that he had diagnosed that Mr. ********'s salt cell was not functioning and needed to be replaced. 

      Mr. ********* sent a follow-up email asking if it was covered by warranty or at the customer's expense. Mr. ******** said it would be covered at 100% the first year and 50% the second year. 

      Upon further research, the ********'s purchased the salt system on 07/02/2021. Therefore, the item would be covered 50% by the warranty, while the ********'s would be responsible for the remaining 50%.



      Please note that we understand and have compassion for the ********'s position, as we take this matter very seriously. However, as outlined above, Kasten has done everything within its power and within the product warranty guidelines to address the consumer's issue fairly and appropriately.
