      I received notification of a failed pmnt for both July and Aug 2024 due to debit card change. I went to the location to update my card info on Aug 4th, management was not present, so they had my write down my card info for the manager to update the next day (Aug5th) that was never done.
      -first contact- Aug 9th 2024- I received another failed pmnt notification on Aug 9th- I called to inquire as to why it hadn't been updated since they had my new card info for 5 days, I was told the location hadn't sent the new info yet. I provided my info to the rep over the phone at that time to have the pmnt initiated. At that time I was told the pmnt due was over $70.00 due to my renewal fee (renewal in July) and July&Aug membership. I advised I didnt want to renew due to my health not allowing me to workout in some months. the rep I spoke with said she would cancel my membership and waive the fees- I emailed the cancelation rqst within 1 hour of call. a pmnt was taken Aug 13 as expected but was only enough for 1 month ( I owed for 2- Jul&Aug)- i called again and was told as much- i was told she could see the prev rep had noted the accnt that all fees were to be waived due to health- i OK'd- another pmnt was initiated on Sept 1- Sept 2- called again to verify closure- was told cant close due to renewal fee outstanding- advised prev rep said fees were to be waived and was noted- rep stated no note on accnt stated all fees have to be paid- she would have a Supervisor call me Sept 3 for assistance- Sept 5- still waiting for call from Supervisor
      -have not used membership since early 2024

      Hello BBB, 

      Colaw Fitness offers memberships for people who would like to go to the gym. We have closed termed memberships (close on a specified date) and open termed memberships (close after cancellation form is received and account has zero balance). 

      *** ******* signed up for an open term membership and called to update her billing on file in early August, 2024. The open balance at that time was $69+tax. According to the membership agreement that she signed, the full balance would need to be paid in order for the membership to be canceled. As seen in the complaint, *** ******* did not want to honor the agreement that she signed. 

      As of September 12, 2024, we have canceled *** *******'s membership and contacted her as well. We waived $39+tax of the open balance as a courtesy to the member.
