      Date of Transaction: 01/07/2025 Amount of Money Paid: $18.82 Business Committed to Provide: The business is Enterprise CarShare and they were committed to provide me with the use of one of their CarShare Cargo Van for 1 hour 45 minutes Nature of Dispute: ON the night of my reservation I inspected the vehicle for external damage, saw none but got a straong smell of cigarette smoke from inside the vehicle so called in to report this. Drove the vehicle without issue and returned it. On 01/11/25 received an email from them claiming that damage had been found after my reservation. I replied to state that I was 100% certain I did not damage the vehicle. They came back with the decision that I was to be held responsible anyway because I did not report any damage prior to my reservation. Now they are threatening to escalate the claim to a collections agency if I do not pay them $1250 by 04/08/2025 which will damage my Credit Score.

      I have reviewed the business' response regarding complaint ID ******** and accept it.  

      It is not quite the apology I was hoping for. They basically got it completely wrong - no damage was there when I inspected the vehicle prior to driving and no damage was done to the vehicle during my rental. I suspect that it was likely one of their own maintenance staff who damaged the vehicle and would rather pin the blame on a customer rather than have a ***** **** on their employment record.

      However, my primary concern was that they were going to escalate to a ****************** who would have ruined my very good Credit Score, as well as the $1,250 they were trying to claim,  and since neither of these things will happen now, I am happy enough with the result.

      I thank you sincerely for your help on this matter - it is great to know you are there to prevent large corporations from victimising their customers like this.
