      I put down a deposit of $1500 for kitchen cabinet painting in May, 2022. He started the end of September, 2022. He doesn’t show, doesn’t answer his phone, doesn’t respond to messages. My kitchen is torn up and unfinished and he doesn’t communicate with me where he’s at or when he will be here. It was supposed to have been finished last week. It isn’t even 1/3 of the way done. I’d like my deposit refunded and for him to get his equipment.

      **** and her husband were very impatient. They were threatening to fire me from the get go which leads me to believe that they just wanted their money back in the first place. Her husband was behind the scenes and would only communicate through hasty and rude text messages. I kept them informed on the process and what steps would need to be taken to the best of my abilities. The last Saturday I had communication with them they refused to answer my calls and texts. The next thing I knew my tools were setting out from of their house so I picked them up. They took my paint sprayer out of paint and locked my $3,000.00 pump up. The job was only 1 1/2 days from being completed. After spending money to get my pump fixed and running again I would still be willing to complete the project. It would have been completed already if they haven’t set my tools out and fired me. The deposit at this point is non-refundable.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      We gave him a deposit in May. He didn’t start the project till the end of September. My husband did tell him if he wasn’t going to finish the job then he needed to refund the money. He started the project but wouldn’t show up. He wouldn’t communicate with us for days. Just wouldn’t show up. Wouldn’t answer his phone, text messages or facebook messages. Days would go by. For example he showed up on a Mon and said the project would be complete by the weekend. He worked Tuesday for less then three hours, didn’t show on Wednesday, didn’t say why or answer calls. He Showed on Thursday but then didn’t come Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon, Tue or Wed. No communication. After he did this two weeks in a row we asked him to get his stuff and not come back. Begged and begged him to get his stuff. Sent him messages, called nothing, for DAYS. He finally responding he was coming to get his stuff. He didn’t show. I waited all day. Still didn’t show, same for the next day, waited and waited. I did this for several days. communication form him Told him if he didn’t come get his stuff I’d call the police and say it was abandoned property. We got sick and tired of waiting for him to get his stuff so I stuck it outside my garage. Because I have a life and can’t sit around for a week waiting for him to show. Job was less the half done. No work had been done on the drawers or cabinets besides a few being sanded. Frames inside  had been primed but no top coat. A five day project dragged on for three weeks so yeah, we got fed up. 

      Now we are out $1500 deposit and have had to hire a new crew. Who magically got more work done in one day then ****** did in two weeks. We understand that ****** is going through a hard time and we told him if he wasn’t able to finish the project then just say so we could hire someone else. I didn’t break his equipment. He never came and got it. When he finally responded saying he was coming, he didn’t show! That is not my problem. I politely and respectfully placed it outside my home and covered it with plastic so weather wouldn’t damage it. It is not my fault he wouldn’t get his stuff and abandoned it for over a week. It was only outside a few hours.
