I hired T & C Metals to construct an 80’x125’x21’ building for my farm & the contract was signed on 5/7/21. The total cost for this project was $314,400. We made two payments, one for $101,358.33 & one for $202,716.67. This project began over 2 years ago & there have been several problems along the way. The most pressing issue was the ordering & installation of 4 steel doors that were on the signed contract & were paid for upfront. On 3/31/23, we reached out to ***** *****r to see if the 4 doors were ordered & she said yes. Nikki told us that she would check on Monday for an update. We never got one so we reached out several more times (4/5/23, 4/10/23, 4/18/23) & no response. On 4/19/23 & 4/27/23, we messaged Nikki & a mutual friend of hers & ours to see if he could get an update from her & was unsuccessful. On 6/15/23, one last message was sent out to both ***** & our mutual friend saying that we received a bid from another company for $23,823 to purchase the doors & install them. No response.
The 2nd issue was that the trim color listed on the contract was Charcoal Grey but Polar White was installed. Now we have to paint the trim on the other three buildings on the property so everything matches. We would not have to do this if the correct trim color was ordered.
The 3rd issue was that 10 windows were ordered per the contract but they didn’t order them in a timely fashion so our building sat open and exposed to the elements for months. We ended up having to put coverings over the windows ourselves so that the interior of the building didn’t get damaged. Also, we ended up only needing 9 windows & we asked to be reimbursed for the additional window that we paid for.
T & C Metals left us with an unfinished building that we had to pay another company an additional $23,823 to complete. The new company ordered the doors for us as promised but we are still currently waiting for those to arrive. I have attached several pictures of the current condition of our building.
