    I joined this cycling studio in April of 2022 and signed a one year contract, unexpectedly in June of 2022 there were some changes in life and I was no longer able to attend classes.
    Not a big deal I would pay monthly for the contract I had signed. February 2023 I get an email reminder that my contract is set to “auto renew” so I email them that I am no longer in the area and to please cancel as of March 2023 (I will have fulfilled my 1 year contract)
    Thinking this should be simple as I am not breaking my contract I am just asking it not renew as I have not been to their gym since June of 2022.
    They sent me a list of documents they would need to send me a form via email that I can then sign and return to them.
    They want proof that I am no longer in the area to get out of a completed contract?
    The way I work I live in hotels and don’t have the documents they requested because everything is completed digitally.
    As I have lived all over and owned multiple businesses I always judge a business on how easy it is to cancel an “auto renew” once the original contract has been fulfilled.
    This business gets a ZERO I have never had a gym request personal info at the end of a contract– to be clear if I was trying to break the contract I would understand the need for documentation.
    I just asked for a form via email that I could send back to them, if they really need the “wet” signature like they say I would be more than happy to mail it.
    After 2 requests they have not sent the form yet.
    I paid Studio Sweat about $960 to attend only a handful of classes and by their records they can see that it has been months since I have been able to be present.
    It really is a shame that it was handled this way, I will be living in Missoula again full time in 2024 and I WILL NEVER go back to this gym.

    Happy Thursday! Per your contract and previous email forms are handled in-studio without proof of extenuating circumstances. Any proof of your move and change in residency will give us legal rights to release those forms via email, whatever you have will work for us. Please simply attach a photo and email it back to us.
    If it easier for you to handle this in person, let us know when you can stop by. We will have our staff prepare your paperwork in order to ensure this process is super simple on your end. Hope you have a great day!

    Once we have that we will email forms for you to mail back to us. We do need your physical signature on file. Per our policies we do need cancellation forms back to the studio 30 days or more prior to contract end date. In your case that would be no later than 3/8/23.
