On August 9th, 2022, I paid $2,079.35 to replace the catalytic converter in my 2017 Kia Sportage. Unfortunately, I didn't have any reason to go into the trunk of my car until a little over a week later. When I did, I found the engine splash shield, also known as the skid plate and what looked like the catalytic converter cover sitting in there. I contacted ten ten auto and they asked me to bring it in the following work day (08/22/2022). They re-installed both pieces, but when I asked for some reimbursement for my time, their negligence and the damage that my engine had been exposed to during the time it was being driven without those pieces in place, remember there is a lot of construction and road debris in the ********** ******* area, I was told the owner declined to reimburse anything. BTW, I never even received an apology for their negligence.

      Business Response

      Date: 09/01/2022

Good afternoon! We did not offer reimbursement because there was no damage done to the vehicle and we installed immediately for the customer. He did receive an apology (twice) from both ** the Service Manager and **** the Office Manager. Although, we were completely booked, we got him in immediately to resolve the problem. Had there been any damage, we would have taken care of it for the customer.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

      1) It takes no consideration into the cost of my time to rectify their negligence.

      2) It takes no consideration into my being unable to utlize my car for the weekend because I did not want to subject my engine and newly installed catalytic converter to road debris. There is quite a bit of road and home construction in my area.

      3) They never mentioned checking my engine or catalytic converter for damage it may have sustained from road debris during the week I did drive it with the skid plate and cover for the catatlytic converter in my trunk area. So their statement of repairing any damage that may have been caused carries no weight.

      4) There was one and ONLY ONE apology given and that was from ** for the owner not being willing to reimburse any of the $2,075 dollars I had paid for the catalytic converter being replaced.

      Sincerely,

      ***** *******
