I recently visited Take 5 Oil Change for the first time to have my cars oil changed. During my visit, I also purchased a cabin air filter and an air filter, bringing my total to approximately $150. The staff was friendly, and I appreciated their service. However, after the oil change was completed, I asked to check the oil dipstick. To my concern, the oil appeared the same as it did before the servicedark and unchanged.I expressed my concern, explaining that I always use synthetic oil, and it has never looked that way immediately after an oil change. Despite this, I left the shop. Later, I had my vehicle inspected by a mechanic, who confirmed that my oil was thick and black, indicating that it had not been properly changed. He also informed me that the oil filter used was not changed and that my vehicle was a quart low on oil..Additionally, after the service, I realized that my sunglasses were missing. They were in a light brown cloth case with rhinestones and had fallen out when the cabin air filter was changed. I kindly request that the security cameras be reviewed to help locate ******* this point, I am extremely disappointed and request that my oil be properly changed with synthetic oil, using a quality oil filter as originally expected. On November 30, 2024, I took my 2013 Dodge Durango to Take 5 Oil Change for an oil change and installation of a new oil filter. On December 27, 2024, the vehicle was losing power and not driving properly, so I took it to *************************** who diagnosed that Take 5 Oil Change had improperly put on a new oil filter causing damage to the oil filter housing unit which required replacement. On Monday January 27th I came in to have my coolant checked out because it was overheating. The technician stated that my coolant was low and it was dirty. He said to have this fixed, they would simply have to flush it out and top it off which was $140, I said yes and that is what was done. I left and when I drove on it the next day the problem insisted. I went to another place, and they said that there were still air pockets and that the coolant was bled correctly. I went back to Take 5 and they said sorry about that and redid it. As soon as I drove off, my coolant rose to 280 degrees which was way higher than before. The manager ****** said to file a claim if it was still persisting because they identified the wrong problem and had me pay for something that didn't fix the issue. My coolant then dropped to the bottom of C and my engine light came on when I was leaving for the last time and my new quote after all that damage is $1656.Business Response

Please see photos attached showing a faulty oil filter installed at Take5 Oil Change #**** on January 10, 2025. There was some discussion amongst mechanics at Take5 when I took vehicle in for oil change on 1/10/25 that they did not have an oil filter to fit the 2023 ******* Kona. The manager (****** ****) insisted they could do the work and installed the oil filter that later malfunctioned. On January 23, my vehicle starting malfunctioning and leaking oil; I was forced to take it to the ******* dealership to avoid getting in an accident. I did not know what the problem was with the vehicle, but it was quickly shown to me that tabs had been broken on the oil filter installed by Take5 in order for it to fit the car. After repairs at *********************** ******* on 1/23, I immediately went to Take5 Oil Change #**** and was told by the shop manager "not to get my hopes up on a refund" because the "damage could've happened anywhere." I was then instructed to email photos and documentation to the email address listed and did so on 1/24 with no subsequent response. As noted in the invoice from Stelle *******, this error caused damage to my vehicle that cost $203.70 to repair. I am requesting a refund of the $147.56 oil change from Take5. I attempted to email Take 5 Oil Change #**** but did not receive response. I also attempted to call Take 5 Oil Change **************** *************) but could not reach anyone. My son took his vehicle to Take 5 (*******************************) on 11/11/2024. His car is a 2014 VW Passat diesel. The fee for the oil change was approximately $100. Upon return from our holiday break (on 1/4/2025) it was noticed there was a great deal of oil under the car. We checked the oil and the oil was not even showing on the dipstick. We went and bought extra oil and sent my son to get his oil changed and checked. He took it to ********* (**************************************************). They found that the oil pan had been stripped and that was the cause of the leak. At that time they submitted a claim to Take 5 to make the situation right. We heard today that the claim was denied. Three weeks my son (a college student) has been without his vehicle due to this issue. It took three weeks to make a decision and then they denied it because they didn't know if it was them or if ********* messed the vehicle up. We were told the decision would be made within days on several occasions during this time. One, the oil pan was messed up by Take 5. Two, the amount of time to make a decision and to leave a student without a vehicle is ridiculous. Three, this can have lasting impact on a vehicle engine all for a company to shrug it off and try to blame it on someone else. The vehicle was taken to ********* because of the significant leak and knowing the seriousness of the issue.Business Response

On December 13th I went in for an oil change with Take 5. After I received the oil change I started noticing oil puddles in my new driveway. I had to end up bringing my car into autonation chevrolet to see what was wrong and turns out when they were doing my oil change at Take 5 they stripped the oil drain plug causing my car to leak oil everywhere. I ended up having to pay for a diagnostic check as well as another oil change because of course all the oil was draining and hours in a shop trying to confirm if it was the oil pan itself that was leaking or the plug that was stripped as well as paying for the repairs. My claim was filed with Take 5 on 12/21/24 as I was waiting in the dealership for them to repair the damage. I have called over 5 times to check on my claim that I was told i should have a response in a few days. *** supplied all supported documents, pictures, receipts etc. Nobody will respond to me, nobody calls or emails you back and they caused the damage to the vehicle. Two emails have been sent to their claims department and I was told to follow up 48 hours. each time an email was sent and still no update each time. I was told there is no phone number to the claims team to speak with someone directly, that they dont reply back to their staff who send the emails, and when asking to speak with the manager they are not available to speak to me. I spoke with ******* ******* and his manager was not able to speak with me. I asked him to have her give me a call back at which point he said he will try. No one will acknowledge my claim. I am seeking reimbursement for my repairs and oil change I had to get along with take 5s oil change. I also needed to purchase addition cleaning supplies to scrub oil out of my driveway which was unsuccessful. This was a brand new paved driveway. I paid approx 75 dollars for the take 5 oil change and another 155 in repairs. As well as another 40 for cleaning supplies for driveway.***************************************Business Response

Hello my name is Shiretta I took my car to take 5 oil change here in ************ ******* off of 1 street When i arrived to get a oil change the girl and *** took all my info and asked which oil i would be getting i told them the cheapest one because my money was low he said he dont recommend the cheapest one with my car which is a Infinity G37 S sport so i told him give me the next one up and then he goes to say you also need a coolant exchange i said i really dont have it to do both and he said look in your email you should have 25 dollars off and maybe another for the oil i go find it in my email and he scan the bar code on my phone and take the money off leaving me a total of 203 and some change i pay for it and he begins to work he does the oil change and now i see he has this machine sucking out the old coolant i received a phone call so im no longer watching him im on the phone but apparently he never put no coolant back in there because i ran from December 5th the day of the service till December the 16th with no coolant and 5:30 am driving into ******* i heart a loud pop like a hose bust and i see all this smoke and a real horrible smell then i see my gauge going up to hot i sit there for 30 minutes go inside do a little shopping come back out its stops smoking but the smell is loud i lifted my hood and i can see smoke coming from the back of the motor i get in the car and proceed to get to a water hose i made up the road to a total stranger house that allowed me to use the water hose all the water i put in there starts shooting out the back where the hose has burst and the *** tells me i need to get it towed i told him i live 5/7 minutes up the road i then drive it slowly make it home and call take 5 that then transfers me to there insurance immediately and they set me up with a claim number and sends a tow to pick my car up in 2 hours and drop it off at ********* in ************ i call all day checking on my car the *** said fleet response was not reBusiness Response

01/20/2025.11330 ***********************************************I went for simply an oil change and after about 1 hours waiting in line and 30 minutes of service my expected $59 charge was $300. I was not made aware of the charges of the services performed, as I was not made aware the services performed were even a charge. I had known take 5 as a reliable place but I was taken advantage because I am a woman and I am not aware to what happens behind the hood I cannot see past. I am not inclined in the knowledge of knowing whats being shoved in my face is something theyre about to do. Unfortunately, I was not taught to change oil or other car maintenances, so when it comes to shops I dont know what I am being charged past a simple oil change. I was also told that an automatic coupon would be added to my total at the end of my service and it was not. In resolution of this issue I would like my total refunded, as not even the correct oil was put into my car. My car takes 0-16w and 0-20w was put in. Ive never used 0-20w and I was not made aware thats what was being put into my car. When opening the hood of my car it has an obvious sticker that says what kind of oil goes in. I would like to be charged what the oil change wouldve costed with the coupon, which was $59. Due to the services today and being taken advantage of I will not be returning to Take 5 as a result. I know its not a huge loss to a huge company, but taking advantage of women should not be a thing in oil shops just to make commission.Business Response

I do not feel satisfied with this answer. I feel as if I was severely taken advantage of and I would like to know what can be done to resolve this issue. Ive given an answer to what I feel is a resolution, which is the correct charge of the oil change after the coupon I was quoted $59. I understand answers take time but I feel as if this is a widespread issue not just with your company but with many other automobile shops taking advantage of women because we are not taught what happens under the hood. Along with this issue, after further evaluation of the receipt, incorrect oil was put into my vehicle. The oil used was 5w-20. My car, a 2020 ****** camry SE, takes 0w-16. When opening the hood theres a very obvious sticker that says what oils goes in. I understand that its acceptable to use 5w-20 in my vehicle, but Ive never put this oil in my car and I do not feel comfortable with that. Another thing, it is not considered consent to a service when a technician sees something about a car is wrong (dirty cabin air filter and diluted coolant) by shoving the issue in my face and expecting an okay. I am rejecting this response because:I saw this email and responded with my address, hoping that this issue would be taken care of and we can go separate ways. After sending my mailing address I was told that the district manager was rejecting my claim because I was told prior to my appointment the price of all services and was okay with them. Unfortunately she was not there.
If I was told the price and gave an okay with these services then there wouldnt be a complaint in the first place. Im seeing that is being overlooked.

The pricing you were given over the phone before the appointment was for the oil change only. Not for the additional services that were performed on your vehicle. The case has been reviewed by the District Manager and the shop manager who stated that the price of the services were discussed prior to doing and the total amount was communicated to make sure it was ok.

January 7th ***** Take 5 oil change **************************************************************************************** I took my car to get an oil change everything fine before taking it in. After taking it in I smell a burning smell and smoking smelll coming from underneath it. When looking up underneath it I see oil leaking and take it back to take 5 and they said they see its leaking and asked me if the work was performed above or below I say I just seen it being done below which lets me know they didnt do it correctly. So then he told me it needs a new ******** pan gasket or Rear main seal. I advised him they would be paying to get it fixed and asked for corporate info so I could contact him and he advised me he didnt have that info.Business Response
