      I never seen a utility company that when it rains one drop powers off every time since they want to over charge us where is are inconvenience charge to charge them????

      Duke Energy has a state of the art, 100+ million dollar headquarters in downtown *********, and consistently fail to provide energy service to the working class of *********. In addition, they charge exceptionally high rates to finance the upkeep of said building. I have never paid more for energy in my life. My groceries have all gone bad in my refrigerator and freezer. No need to fret, though! Ill just look out the window of my blistering hot apartment and ****** said building. Thank you, *************! I hope you enjoy your well-earned 20 million dollar salary. This monopoly on energy needs to end.

      Disabled War Veteran: without notice, they turned my power off. Now animals will likely die, and I will suffer.No money was owed, no laws were broken. They just don't care.

      Had a request for the street light division. I had a light guard on my light and when the top was replaced it was gone. And nothing would motivate them to replace it. Two employees were the problem and their professionalism was off. They will remain nameless. I was finally able to speak to their supervisor ****************. I couldnt have asked for a better person or resolution to my problem. I never thought I would leave this review, but his sensitivity and pledge to address the problems made me a believer again in Duke Energy.

      DUKE ENERGY IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DEAL WITH I HAVE CONTACTED THEM SEVERAL TIMES ABOUT A DANGEROUS SUITATION IN MY FOUNT YARD A **** CLOSE TO THE MAINE POWER LINE SUPPLYING POWER TO MY RESIDENCE I HAVE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES TO REPORT THE DANGEROUS SITUATION THEY SENT OUT PEOPLE SEVERAL TIMES BUT, TO NO AVAIL PART OF THE **** FELL THIS MOURNING AS I WAS ATTEMPTING TO GO TO CHURCH ALMOST KILLING ME I HAVE GRANDCHILDREN PLAYING IN THE YARD FROM TIME TO TIME AND IF THE REST OF THE **** FALLS AND HUNTS ANY OF THEM THEY WILL BE CHARGED WITH MURDER I HAVE LOST FOOD, APPLINCES,AND WELL PUMP CONTROLS I WOULD GIVE THEM A MINUS O IF I COULD WITH LOVE I FILE THIS REVIEW RESPECTFULLY *****************************

      ****** billing systems are fundamentally broken.We changed banks last year.On the Duke site, we went to Automatic Payments and added our new bank. We deleted the old, closed account from the other bank.On the next billing cycle, **** tried to draft from the old, closed account.When we called, the rep only saw the old account, and didn't see the new account.^^^problem #1, why would the *** see different Autopay than we saw on the web site?They deleted the old account, and we had to read the new account info to them, which they mistyped, so the next payment was also not processed.^^^problem #2, we could only see the bank and last 4 of the account, but something we couldn't see or confirm. Again, not our fault.Because of these two failures which were 100% Duke's fault, we are now being inconvenienced for 12 months of having to make manual payments.We've been a Duke customer for nearly 30 years (24 in this home) and have never had any issues till now.Explaining all this to their ****************** people is like talking to a brick, they don't listen and don't care.

      I am truly disappointed with Duke Energy I have been a loyal customer of theirs for a number of years now, I have lost my employment for no reasons of my own and have struggling to pay my bills for a while now, **** has been very workable with me I had bills that went as high as $800.00 and paid them down to where I was current and the people there were always kind and empathetic towards my current position, But this time was truly one of the worst experiences I have ever dealt with I had called to pay my bill and had asked to use the payment plan and was denied so I called and spoke to a customer rep and they gave me an extension all I wanted to do was pay part of the bill anyway I excepted the extension at the end of the extension I only had. $300 of a $397 balance and they cut my service off I told the that was all the money I had In the world and that I had my mother who Is 83 yrs old and a refrigerator with all the food we had because we were giving all of our money to Duke energy and food was going bad I can not believe this was happening all for $97.00 this Is a horrible thing to do to two human beings I would not wish this on anyone the cust care rep I spoke with couldnt have cared less and when I asked to speak to a supervisor they took my number and never called me back we treat our dogs better then how I was treated me and my 83 yr old mother with breathing Issues and medical problems were left with no lights or air conditioning and rotted food In our refrigerator I will never forget this this Is truly something that needs to be corrected maybe not for me but any other human beings that might be treated this way by Duke Energy! I will not let die here I will speaking to my local politicians about this It Is truly horrible and no one should ever be treated this way especially for $97.00.

      It really should be 0.1 stars. Their "smart" meter has doubled its count of my usage despite no changes in behavior on my side. They insist their meter is infallible and refuse to come to check it or replace it. Instead of providing actual customer service, they tell me to use less energy (I already don't use AC/heating, but thanks for the tip). As others have said, this is what we get with monopolies and no consumer protection.

      Monopoly!!Help Duke energy is the only energy provider in ********** **** and many many other cities and just keeps inflating the cost of energy by hiding the charges under Retail energy rider (RE). I have propane for heating my property but somehow in the winter my bill quadruples. Then the state hides even those charges by putting a 3rd party in charge of masking the energy riders. I know theirs a law that states what they can charge for electricity but they can put anything on anyone bill and theirs nothing anyone can do about it because they are the only electricity provider. Someone Please help stop them.

      I went into site requesting an extension, received confirmation I was past due ****** was to pay entirely in 2 weeks, received disconnect notification even though they gave confirmation accepted the payment schedule had to call in and they said nothing was showing even though I gave their confirmation number accepting the payment we scheduled they said I would have to make arrangements which I had to but my question is how can company be unable to find the information they issued on customers account, this is not the first time I hear about Duke Energy misinformation to customer, I have their response on my account saved
