I was unable to pay my monthly bill because their payment center was down. There was zero communication of the outage and no ETA when the system will be online. The only notification there was on their website and the only time I go to the site is when I go to pay my bill. Since the due date was that day, I filed an extension. I check later that week to see if it up and I saw $22.66 added to my balance. I want it removed because it was not my fault the system was down and there was zero communication on their issue to the customers.

      BBB,

The late fee dispute has been reviewed. The customer account late fees have been removed as a onetime courtesy based on the issues the business was having regarding our online portal. We do provide Ways to Pay on the back of the monthly billing statement, if this would be helpful going forward.

      Thank you,

The Company claimed to bring higher revenues due to chemical spills in the water. They need to reconsider the millions they try to raise while their service is not that good. They hired a new dude and he wanted to impress them and wanted more money in their pocket. Utility companies need to understand that at this time they should not keep on charging more while many people are losing their homes due to high costs. Additionally, I burned 450 gallons of water they charged me for 2000. I am asking to have a transcript mailed or emailed to me. Please see the quote below: The Fayetteville Public Works Commission voted 4-0 on Wednesday morning to boost the price of electricity, water, and sewer service in and around Fayetteville, saying inflation has driven up its cost of doing business. The increases take effect in May. They are to boost power revenues by 6.1% and water and sewer revenues by 8.6%, PWC documents say. The PWC staff estimated that a residence that consumes ***** gallons of water per month and uses ***** kilowatt hours of electricity would pay an additional $12.97 per month, or about $156 per year. The vote to boost the rates included newly appointed Commissioner *********************, who was sworn in by Fayetteville Mayor *********************** just before the meeting started. He replaced former Commissioner ********************* and was also made the treasurer.

      Business Response

      Date: 06/26/2024

      Good morning,

The business has reviewed the customer's statement of problem. The latest billing statement reflects the correct charges for services used with no billing discrepancy found. The water usage increased by 520 gallons between the current and prior billing statements, but it doesn't appear to be an issue based on the prior 13 months usage history.

Our mission is to provide safe, reliable and affordable electric, water and wastewater services to our customers. There is additional information available on our website www.faypwc.com that *** be useful as well.

We are also available to discuss any additional concerns by phone at ************** Monday thru Friday from 7:00am to 8:00pm excluding holidays.

I've contacted PWC many times about this issue. My card was charged here I don't have PWC. In total it's over $463. This is my last attempt to reach out and get this resolved and my money back. I've been told by a few others that this has happened to them also. Someone's going to have to either send me a check or find a way to refund me my money. I definitely want this resolved I don't want any problems as I've gone through enough with this company. I don't live in a area that even deals with PWC. We have ************ Please help

      Good afternoon,

As stated in prior correspondences, Public Works Commission records reflect that we've billed the correct account holder for services rendered and accepted payment on the account. There is no reasoning for the business to issue a refund.

If ****************** would like to have this reviewed by Public Works Commission ************************** I will email a claim form to the email address provided.

I have had service at my address in the *********************** Subdivision for over 15 years. I believe PWC is price gouging. My bill increased by $100 just this month from the previous months. This is after the city had a severe storm. In 15 years of living at this address, nothing has changed usage wise in my household. When I first moved in, my bill was around $80-$90 and this month it's over $360. I cannot afford to pay my power bill. I have had electricians and plumbers out to my home to look for possible causes of excessive usage. Nothing was found. After speaking with several of my neighbors, all stating that their bill drastically went up last month and has gone up exponentially over the last decade, it appears PWC is a monopoly charging arbitrarily. There is no way my home uses what I am being billed for each month. I can barely afford half of $360 and I am now deciding between food and power. I am requesting a thorough investigation regarding the billing practices of PWC and my bill to be lowered to reflect MY homes ACTUAL usage.

on 4/12. I called PWC to get them to explain when did they send me a bill for the $31,00. They said we sent you a bill to an address we no longer live. We were expecting to get our deposit back from them in the amount of $400 and they took all of that from us. I own a **** ** home and our elecrtic was never that hie in a given month. We only live in this apartment for 2 months. They sent me to a collection agency. So the collection agency said If i would pay the $31,00, they would remove this from my credit report. I asked them to send me this in black in white that they would remove this from my report and they refuse to do so. I understand that collection agency are not honest. I was promised this before and it never happened. This should not be on my report if I didn't know I had a bill for $31,00

I had services turned on at ******************************** Fayetteville, **. Discovered I had to move within 1 week. Called to have service cut off, had a refund. Was asked where to send my refund. Told them **************************************. Fayetteville, **. Waited several weeks and called PWC. They tell me they sent it to 110 *****. I tell them why would I want my check sent to an address I no longer stay. They tell me, wait a few weeks to make sure the hold was put on the check. It was then stated that a new check would be sent out to **************************************. I wait the two weeks out, call back and it's the same story. Call back another week, same story of they will call or send my money. Call again in a few days, same story. Now it's been over 60 days. PWC has created multiple charges on me and the other tenants of my apartment by varying degrees that far exceed normal usage of water. Their treatment of us as customers has been severely poor, and they refuse to offer restitution. Ex: we've been charged triple our usual amount at a rate of 26k gallons of water usage even with one of us being gone for the month that was charged, as well as 6k gallons in a twelve hour period that no one was home for. we've had multiple maintenance and plumbing crews come out to find nothing wrong with our plumbing nor any leaks throughout the apartment. It's impossible for us to have been using what we've been accused of yet PWC still instigates this problem and expects us to cover the amount billed.
