I experienced a leak in my roof and contacted my warranty company to have repairs done. Roofology of the Carolinas was contracted out by my warranty company to work on my roof. I thought that they were honest and reliable. August 8, 2024 they claimed that rusted nails on the boot on the roof caused the leak. I was also informed that there were two other boots that had the same issue. I trusted this company only to experience leaking again 8 months later in the same area and another area where the guy claimed to repair. I contacted a reputable company who examined my roof and explained what was going on and that my roof was further damaged due to the negligent repair work done by Roofology. I discovered that the nails were never replaced and the boots were the same ones installed on my house from when it was built. The only thing the roof technician did was put caulk on nails and caulk around one boot where the original leaking occurred. I was charged $175 by Roofology just to put caulk on nails. One tube of roof caulk is $8.98 at ********** and not even a tenth of a tube was used to make so called repairs to my roof, but I was charged $175. Because of their negligent actions further damage was done to my roof costing me almost $1,000. Thankfully, I have pictures of the work done by Roofology of the Carolinas and watched the guy who did the repairs on my roof today. I saw him removed the damaged boots and shingles, repair the affected areas, and replaced the old boots along with shingles. I wish there were more honest professionals out there that didnt take advantage of females. I did contact Roofology of the Carolinas before contacting the current company who repaired my roof and they pulled up my file to tell me oh, yeah, then the whole pipe has to be replaced and it will cost $225. Its like they knew that I would be calling back for help. Scammers.

Following our roof inspection, we found that the shingles were in good condition; however, we noticed exposed nails on the pipe boots and ridge cap shingles, and a nail had popped through one shingle. To address these issues, we performed a basic maintenance tune-up, which included resealing all exposed nails and installing new rain collar gaskets on all pipe boots. This service was completed at a cost of $150.

We understand that she may have expected a more extensive repair or replacement. However, based on our professional assessment, the maintenance provided was appropriate to prevent potential leaks and extend the life of your roof.

We provided a complete roof report during our inspection and completing our work that is timestamped.
      Sincerely,
      Kason Hogge

      Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:

The company that actually repaired my roof informed me that the items that Roofology claimed to replace, gaskets were original to the house and the only work performed was caulking. They provided me with the items that were removed off the roof and I was able to view them and take pictures.

On August?15,?2024, our technician installed new gaskets on the rain collars and resealed all exposed nails as preventative maintenance. The homeowner was invoiced $150 and paid in full at that time. To our knowledge, there have been no further reports of leakage or dissatisfaction.

We stand behind the quality of our work. Photos and documentation confirming completion are available if needed. Should the homeowner notice any remaining issues—even now—we welcome them to contact us directly. Customer satisfaction remains our top priority.
