A little over 2 years ago, we began working with National Restoration for building an addition to a private residence in ********** /********. They quoted us extremely high, then promptly charged us 4% and a deposit - assuring us that we would not lose the money as it would be rolled into the overall project. Since then, the project has not been completed, nor any part of the agreed work delivered. Due to various complications, concerns, frustrations and overall lack of progress and communication, we chose to terminate the project earlier this year on April 1, 2024 and requested a portion of our money returned.National Restoration stopped communicating with us and has not returned the money which we do not believe is right for them to keep. National Restoration did offer to return 20%, which we felt was unacceptable considering the experience. We've paid them over 100k and have asked, through an attorney, for the return of 60k. To date, they have not returned any money and have ignored communications from the attorney. We believe we've been wrongfully treated by National Restoration and cheated out of a lot of money, time, and dignity. We have additional information available if needed.

I am rejecting this response because:
I do not agree with the points raised, nor feel they justify the poor experience, nor resolve the issue, nor do they assure the return of the money requested.  Please see attached response document for more information.  Thank you.

Mr. ****, you have elected to retain legal council concerning this matter, it is against the advise of National Restoration's legal council to communicate with you, or your family. National Restoration remains committed to settle this matter equitably and will remain cooperative in doing so. NR (National Restoration) does not believe that your request is either reasonable or fair, given the circumstances.

We not hold ourselves out to be architects, nor engineers, and we do not draft building plans. NR estimated the building plans you provided to National Restoration which included a level of detail you would only see in higher end homes, that did not align with your budget.

The reponsibility to review and approve plans; prior to submission to any general contractor, belongs to you. You fail to acknowledge the many revisions made to the estimated "Scope of Work", either at cost, or zero cost to you, to bring this project back within your budget parameters. The contract documents clearly show that National Restoration absorbed the estimating costs in the draw schedule, only, if NR completed the services outlined in the Agreement. The agreement was breached.

We recognize you are dissatisfied with the current outcome, as we are, but we must now communicate through our respective legal council.
