I signed a contract with Insight Pest Solutions a year ago. I paid them for a whole year of service, after my contract was up, I called Insight and told them to cancel my account, because my neighbor told me they quoted her $39 per month and not to tell me because I was paying $59 per month. With this piece of info I called them in May of this year and canceled my service because of deception and not being honest. They called me and said I was responsible for the remaining balance and if I don't pay (even though no services were rendered since May) they were sending my account to collections. I never signed a contract extending my contract but yet they can still charge me? It's not about the money because it's not that much, but more I feel extorted. I am rejecting this response because: I talked to a representative of insight yesterday and he told me that I'm on the hook for a bill that I feel I'm not responsible for. I suppose to just give them $178 for nothing. As I stated no services was rendered and I didn't sign a contract. This just tell me that I made the right decision by not doing business with Insight ever again. Thank you!

The sale guy for Insight was going door to door. The man told my *********** that today only if we signed up it was 1/2 off. He firmly stated it is only today because I was just going to have him talk to my husband ********. Instead I called my husband over and he restated about the 1/2 off and what all they do. Instead of ****** a year it was ****** and they came every other month. My husband said, let me think it over. He said well the discount wont be available tommorow. So we signed the tablet which only had signature page. They sprayed once & when I got the email with all the information about contract. When I added it up it came to ******. The guy lied. So I called and cancelled and cancelled my card. The sent out someone to spray again and we told him no, we had cancelled contract. I talked to Insight because I kept getting calls, he said you cant cancel l& they turned over too collection agency.Business Response

On 5/26 a rep from Insight Pest Solution came to my door soliciting their services for pest control. They said they had a special deal of $69 for one day service. I agreed to the one time service and signed for this service without seeing a contract of any sort. They never mentioned that I would be charged monthly or that this service agreement would be for 1 year. I found out that I was being charged monthly only when I looked at my bank statement. In June they charged $72 and $97 for the month of August. I called Insight when I discovered I had been charged and asked them to mail me the contract where I had agreed to a subscription for 1 year and cancelled this service only to find out they were charging a cancellation fee.They refused to refund or do anything about the charges and money they took without consent. They target the elderly and limited English speaking community.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: Insight Pest Solutions is not offering any solution to resolve the issue. The issue is Insight Pest Solutions never gave me or explained a contract with a description of service that involved a monthly subscription and that I would be agreeing to automatic withdraws from my credit card/ bank account for one year. I authorized a one time payment for one time service. In my opinion, either the door to door customer representative lied about this one time deal or Insight Pest Solutions are training representatives to make a sale/ get a signature any means necessary. The solution would be to refund me $172.

On July 11th I called Insight Pest Control to cancel my contract that was ending on the 13th of July. Cause i no longer needed their service anymore. At that time i talked to a woman by the name of ******* at 8:19 am the morning of the 11th and she told me that multiple of time that she would file a notice of cancellation for me. Also said someone from the company would be contacting me about the cancellation which no one ever did cause my phone is with me at all times. Saturday i get and email stating that they reinstated my contract after i asked for it to be cancelled and on top of that went and charged my bank account ****** service fee all without my consent. I have tried to contact the company supervisor to find out what gave them the right to go behind my back and do this but every time i call them the supervisors are never available. If i can't get it resovled through, you then i will take legal actions against this company.Business Response

Had a technician show up to the house and spoke to my mother about spraying for ants and spiders. Said $180 to spray that would cover the property from May-Aug. Did not mention anything about this quarterly installments at all. Also didn't mention that it's the same amount $180 to cancel. Company is a SCAM! stay away!! Makes you sign a contract after saying it's a one time thing and it's not, then holds the contract over your head. I am rejecting this response because I believe you are not understanding the problem. The issue is, the sales rep isn't telling people that they are signing up for a yearly subscription or that there is a massive cancellation fee of $180 plus tax! I think if your letting these independent franchisees use your name you should be responsible for how they are conducting their business practices, unless you just don't care. The sales rep didn't explain any of this to my mom and from her conversation with them it was verbally discussed to come one time for $180. They then have something else written in their contract and hoping people don't catch it, like my poor mother who willingly trusted this person was telling her the truth about the services. I would like you as the head office of this company to contact this franchisee and allow her to cancel her "subscription" or whatever you want to call it without penalty to her as this wasn't explained to her.

Despite that, however, it is very important to us that our representatives are still capable of being as clear and concise when offering a plan to our clients. We strive to assure that our franchise locations represent our brand just as well as the locations managed by our corporate office. If someone is misrepresenting our brand in any way, we want to do whatever we can to help. If we are unable to help for whatever reason, we want to make sure this never happens again. That's why we sent the information you gave us in the review to your local branch. They have access to your account and will be able to identify who you spoke to and let them know the complaint you made. It is up to them to settle this issue once and for all. What we are able to do on our end is let the franchise know of your complaint and give them the information needed to help you. We, and many other businesses, have independently owned and controlled branches to help the business run more efficiently; but we assure you that we are still not letting them do as they please with our brand. We started with Insight last year (2022) after a salesman came to our door. Quite frankly had the absolute best service and the product worked amazing. This year has been an ABSOLUTE Nightmare with these people. The employees dont show up when they say they would. They try to charge us for a mosquito treatment we were supposed to have in May except they still have no come to do it. The only day they came was ****** day and that meant we could no longer be outside for two hours so we said no he said hed be back the Tuesday and never came but supposedly called which is not true. We referred them to some friends after last year and now truly regretted it as they are also having issues. All around seems they took on more than they can handle and now we get the absolute worst service and it has been nothing but a fight. We are refusing to pay for the mosquito treatments since we NEVER got them and its July. Truthfully issues all around and would highly suggest anyone stays away, they had a great product and company and it has gone down heavily.Business Response

On July 05/23 a sales person from Incite Pest Control trespassed on my moms property in ***********. This said person then proceeded to sell my 89 year old mother (with dementia) a pest control contract. This said person walked through the inside and outside of moms house and then proceeded to have her sign a contract, She also gave him ****** in cash as a down payment and helped her write a cheque for *******. When I look at the cheque it seems that my mom was not able to complete filling out the cheque herself, so this sales person had to compete most of the information. At what point does a sales person say to themselves that this women may not be entirely capable. I was able to recover the money and the cheque. But I am concerned as I do not have a copy of the contract and by the sounds of this companies complaints I am not sure whether they will still try to proceed. Also there was no real information left at my moms house no copy of the contract no receipt for the monies given. If I had not seen a single sticky note with his info I would not have known that this transaction even happened. This is very scary for families of the many seniors who are trying to live on their own. That salesperson filling out the cheque for my mom sounds like fraud to me.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: If I read the responses of this company to all the other complaints through the BBB the answer is always the same. " Because you were serviced by one of our independently owned franchises, our corporate office can only point you in the right direction" I feel the coporate office should have some control over the practices of a franchise whether it be independently owned or not. As these independently owned franchises carry the "insight pest control" name one would think that they would be more concerned about a sales person using their company name financially abused my mother. Is there any franchises that aren't independently owned?

This is why a lot of responses to complaints you see will redirect you to the proper branch. There is nothing we can do to solve your issue directly. A *****person came by our house less than a year ago. Said they were doing a special with our neighbors and did their pest control. I felt sorry for him with his trying to be a good rep ***** pitch. He said for $50, they would do a one time spray of house and yard. If I liked it, they would come back in 3 months. He said no contracts no committments. I agreed. They charged me $50. Then another $50, then another. They never sprayed or did pest control. The next day, I had a door tag saying they missed me. I have a ring camera that recorded them only leaving the sign. Nothing. After I realized I had been charged for 3 months, I called and complained. This is when they said I had agreed to a year. No I did not, and the entire conversation is saved on my ring camera. They cancelled for me and I thought that was it. In June, I get a collections letter from ************************ Solutions for collections. This is a FRAUDULENT SCAM and sadly, I am seeing other neighbors complaining of being had. I never received service. Not one. They took $150 of my money and now have me with collections notices. That's not a great way to do business- but maybe that's how they roll. I have reported these deceptive selling practices to the police, our neighborhood, and to the collection agency.Business Response

We had our house treated by insight pest solutions a long time ago. After the initial treatment our bugs seemed to had gotten worst we complained about it and the technician wanted to charge ** more and suggested to get more expensive add ons. We cancelled our service and the company sent our account to collections.Now randomly we keep having technicians show up at our house or texting asking to schedule treatments. They just show up unexpectedly and today one of the technicians convinced my daughter to let him into the house while we were not home. This is BEYOND UNACCEPTABLE!!!! When my husband contacted the technician and explained that we did not have an active account and asked why was he at our residence, he stated that he was there to pick up equipment. There is NO equipment in the house!!! NEVER HAS there been any boxes inside the house. All we have are termite pods in the front and back yard that he could have easily retrieved without entering my house. I formally request to be DONE with this company and any balance that is due be mailed to me.Business Response

When we remove a pest from their homes, they have nowhere else to hide. It's quite possible that you haven't been getting more bugs, but instead they have been easier to find because they're not hiding in their home.
