      *****************, **************************************************************************, ** ***** **** hospital labels themselves as a women's hospital, they are incompetent and price gouging. I recently went there for a mammogram and they basically charge double, 2 separate bills 1 for radiology and another to be read. The person who reads it, charges more then the actual test. My insurance refused to pay the enormous price they were requesting. I was never informed of this before having it done, in the past I have always went to ad radiology center. BEWARE OF THIS HOSPITAL!!!!

      Wake Med have been a catalogue of incompetence and utter lack of patient care in my dealings with them for the last year plus.
      - They regularly cancel my appointments with little to no notice
      - They regularly reschedule appointments to random dates I cannot do
      - They are refusing to issue my life saving cardiac medications because I havent had an appointment.... when I havent been able to have an appointment because they keep moving or cancelling them
      - Today I received messages saying "you have to establish" - establish what? What does that mean? and "You have to have a test" What test? Why?
      - I requested mail order medication delivery. The request was not acknowledged, but I just received a text saying "this med is ready for pickup" at a location 35 miles away (ie ~1.5 hours round trip). How is requiring me to drive almost 100 miles the equivalent of free mail order?
      I am so disgusted I am lost for words.

      I already contacted WakeMed directly over a week ago and they have not responded, so somehow I doubt that they'll do anything with this either.
      Absolutely shocking.

      I finally received a letter this week, almost a month after my complaint, in an UNSEALED envelope.
      Do WM always address patients health concerns in unsealed envelopes so that any random stranger can read what's in it? Surely that's a contravention of HIPAA?
      Furthermore, several independent staff members at caardinal Imaging are saying that WakeMed have had my biopsy results since the afternoon of 1/11. It is now 1/13, and WM are denying ever receiving the results. How very professional, ethical, and compassionate of WM to lose my results and have me sit and wait for a week (and counting?) to find out whether or not I have cancer. This just gets better and better!
