In March 2022, BBB investigated CapitalXaps’ business practices. This investigation was prompted by a scam tracker report. The victim was contacted on social media by a friend “whose account was probably hacked,” requesting her to invest in cryptocurrency by setting up and funding an account using a bitcoin transfer. Afterwards, “the money was transferred I could not withdraw it back out.” The victim received a confirmation email, but the $200 never arrived. “I tried to contact the person who was supposed to be helping me get started and no response. Then my account disappeared and I was no longer able to login.”
On March 14, 2022, BBB confirmed by mail returned that the address where CapitalXaps’ website, https://www.capitalxaps.com/, claims to be located is not real.
On March 7, 2022, BBB sent an email to CapitalXaps with the following questions:
· Business start date
· Physical location and mailing address (if different)
· Preferred method of contact (mail, fax, or email)
· A brief description of the products or services your company offers
· Information on how and where your company advertises
· Copies of marketing materials provided to your customers
· Any additional information that would enable BBB to better understand your business
On March 7, 2022, BBB checked the website (https://www.capitalxaps.com/) to determine when it was created and where it was registered. The website was created on December 27, 2021, and the registrant name/information was not disclosed.
On March 14, 2022, BBB confirmed by mail returned that the address where CapitalXaps’ website, https://www.capitalxaps.com/, claims to be located is not real.
As of March 23, 2022, BBB has exhausted all forms of contact to the business. No response has been received to email communications. The phone number is not in service and postal mail communications are returned to sender.
