Alert

Based on a complaint on file, BBB has reason to believe this is not a legitimate entity. In the complaint, the customer says they employed VoguEscrow (or Vogue Escrow) as a supposed provider of third-party escrow services. The customer paid $2,025 in re-loadable, prepaid Vanilla debit cards - 4 cards worth $500 each (along with processing fees) - as payment for a vehicle being offered by a private seller. Upon receipt of the funds, VoguEscrow (or Vogue Escrow) did not release the car to the buyer. Instead, they requested an additional $1,000 for insurance. At that point, the customer grew wary. From there, the customer alleges the company stopped responding to phone calls and emails sent to their attention.

BBB warns the public that requests for payment via wire transfer or prepaid debit cards (through services such as Vanilla) are virtually always a sign the entity you're transacting with may not be operating in good faith. You should never wire funds to someone you haven't met in person. Also, once funds are transferred from your prepaid debit cards, they're likely unrecoverable. And once the codes on the back of these cards are shared with another party, they can drain funds from your card immediately.

UPDATE: On March 16, 2017, BBB issued a press release regarding our concerns about this entity. The next day (March 17), on their website, Vogue Escrow's 'Head Office' was switched from a Fargo address - which BBB confirmed was not associated with Vogue Escrow - to an address in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. BBB has reason to believe that address is also not valid and continues to advise caution to anyone considering doing
business with this entity.
