We put our notice to terminate our rental agreement sometime in December stating that we were going to move out February 28th and we also verbally told the apartment manager Raquel and the Regional manager Laura ***** while they were having their lenders inspection Laura ***** confirmed Via email that she remembers me telling them that we were going to be moving out at the end of our lease. they have since lost the notice to vacate and did not record that we were vacating the apartment. They want us to pay a reletting fee of ******. We should not be held liable since they lost our notice to vacate and did not enter it into their system. I have also called and tried going to the apartment office multiple times to confirm that they had received the notice to vacate and I have not been able to get ahold of anyoneBusiness Response

I have been here for just over a year as a tenant of The Seldin Company. First they illegally rented me an apartment without properly cleaning or replacing damaged carpets. There are countless burn marks and even wax ground into carpet, which was never even cleaned. We as residents are on our third set of managers who for some reason can't get their books correct. **** ***** ****** ** *** ********* ******** ** *** ***** ******** ******* **** ****** **** **** **** ***** *****. each time we get a new set of managers I have received notices that I owe multiple months of back rent. Each time I have taken all my rent receipts to the office and told that everything is straightened out only to receive another notice the following month stating the same exact thing. At this point I have decided to get an attorney involved and we have a 10:00 appointment at H.U.D. tomorrow morning to go through these receipts to prove my point. Also, we will be coming after Seldin for not cleaning that resident before renting, which is against the law in ****. I have many pictures of the before and after of me having to clean the carpets, and behind the stove and refrigerator. The towel racks and toilet paper holder were just placed on the wall and as soon as you touched them they completely fell off. Someone did attempt to clean the oven I'm guessing because oven cleaner was sprayed in the oven but then just left in there. I'm currently looking to move into another H.U.D. property just to get away from the garbage that goes on here at *** ********. ***** *** **** ***** ***** ******* ****** *** ******* ******** ** *** ***** ***** *** **********. I found 3 needles in the stairwell that someone who was shooting up left behind. The ********** current on-site leasing manager is new to the property, and has been working diligently to correct errors or concerns left outstanding by previous staff. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to ensure *** ******** is a place our residents love to call home. The manager confirms meeting with you to discuss rent, and that a repayment agreement was signed by you, after reviewing the ledger and receipts provided to us. For work orders, the manager states none are currently outstanding for your home and encourages maintenance requests be entered as-needed, so she can process & complete them in a timely and professional manner. The corporate supervisor who oversees your community confirms no damages or missed cleaning was noted on your move-in checklist, and that she requested photos so we can see the areas that were missed. Seldin Company, are the owners for *********** apartments and their management company is trying to charge me a trash removal charge in the amount of $*** ($** per bag, for 10 bags on my patio) without even issuing a warning for me to get removed by a specific date and it is not legal or fair to me to be assessed a charge by this management company w/o notice and it is not in my lease at all. I have lived at this complex for a little over * years and this is very poor customer service on their part.
In order to resolve this issue, they need to remove the charge they added to my account.

My daughter and myself have been trying to contact someone in the office of
******************************* for over a week and have not been successful.
We have called and left messages and never received a call back. My daughter lives in ******** and I am planning on moving from ********* to be closer to her.
I am very interested in leasing a three or two bedroom apartment as soon as possible but it doesn't seem like there is any one available to help me to even let me know if there is an apartment available. Why is there never anyone available to answer the phone or return a call?Business Response

To whom; They have made my lose all of my housing items two times I was not under their management until 2020 it was not a Selden property I am truly honestly traumatized and have PTSD from all of this they have been bullying me since last year really because they wanted to remodel my apartment and it was no longer assistance based I have stuff documented and emails and one voicemail but several emails they're bullying me telling me that they sporadically an aggressive way I lost sleep I didn't know what to do I was in shock after that I still am I switched my mail I still haven't gotten it and it was traumatizing before I got bed bugs because they were still in the carpet ****this where I'm staying

No they absolutely did not they remove my things before the month was over that I had paid they had play games with me all year about moving out because of it not being allowed and they ended up doing this instead I've had problems with him in the past they've had nothing but problems I believe they still have a 1% rating is being so onwards it was unlawful what they did just because they're saying what they're saying they have no proof I have proof regarding some of the things in my possession it is not fair they gave me bed bugs and they're trying to get away with this and they did not give me a 30-day notice aside from everything it was 100% illegal all the way around no no no I'm standing up for the people that they bully and have to deal with this as well but I've dealt with it twice and it's unfair and dishonest

I reviewed it they're just saying the say thing just denying that shows nothing there are numerous violations easiest is they violated the landlord tenant act I have messages from the manager and the housing office they were spying l. Me and in my apt without notice that's illegal not to mention the other things this is Ludacris!! They have ruined my life and my thing things twice!! I am owed back a precious few items I'd like reimbursed for!!

Our property, *************, has been without hot water since Monday, November 21st. All we hear is they are tracking a part they are waiting on. No discount on rent, no offer of a breakfast taco, no offer of a cup of coffee. Nothing! Only lies. Parts can be shipped overnight. I do it all the time. Please fine this company.Business Response

A boiler went out at the property last week, which impacted hot water availability to many of our residents. Our onsite team has been working diligently, along with the plumbing company, to expedite the repair. However, it is taking longer than expected for the plumbing company to receive the parts needed to resolve the issue. I lived at the ****************** managed be Seldin Company in ************. I lived there for two months before I removed my name from the lease in July of 2019. I physically went into the office, and turned in a room mate release form, signed by me and my room mate at the time. Upon turning it in, I also turned in my keys and was assured everything was squared away. I also stopped receiving their community emails. I checked my credit today and I have been charged for things my ex room mate should be held responsible, as my name was taken off. I called them and they state that they can no longer locate the room mate release agreement, and I am now suffering from their egregious errors because it is now reflecting on my credit. They misplaced or through out my form, and I believe it is in an attempt to better collect the funds that my ex room mate owes.Business Response

Since moving into *************************** I have been told about how many Managers there have been, how many Assistant Managers there have been. Since my husband and I moved in the Manager we had by the name of Michelle and her Assistant were either fighting amongst themselves or Michelle was continually treating the residents like dirt. Than it was the incident after ************* received a new Manager by the name of Jackie ******************* that couldn't treat her residence any better than the Manager before her. Jackie looked into residents files and told my husband and I that the Manager by the name of Michelle had not raised our rent for 2 years and Jackie the Manager started to do that but couldn't make up her mind how much. She finally came to an amount I am sure is not right. After Jackie came Joyce ******** she became either the new Assistant or Assistant Manager. She didn't know either what title she had. She took over Jackie's position when the job became to much for Jackie. There are so may other Seldin apartments some Ugly and run down like *************. It's a Dump, Run Down **************. ***************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************. ************* is in really bad shape to tell you. We had a hail storm here not to long back. Window Screens are torn out throughout the building, Window inside our First Bedroom is all torn up and needs replacement. Balconies here are old and weak. The carpeting on the first floor of the building is spotted by people and animals coming in and going out. The reason the Insurance won't take care of for Seldin is because it's old and run down. There are no Managers that can do the job and treat people here with respect doing it. I Hate Living Here.Business Response

The Assistant Vice President of Property Management who oversees this community has confirmed that the insurance claim was approved yesterday and the owners are handling Ms. ****** claim and the repairs, including the window. The carpet and painting of the first floor are being finalized with the owner as well. Our management team confirms providing respectful and fair treatment to all residents, and notes that all rules and regulations enforced by the leasing team are in accordance with the lease agreements and company policy.

I wsan't just speaking of the repairs to be made. I was also telling Seldin that from the 3 years my husband and I have lived here, you Fired one Manager that I know of Michelle. Her Assistant left , or quit. Than John the Maintenance Man quit when Michelle was fired. Than we had Jackie come along and Joyce, the 2 that quit last Thursday. The Seldin property of ************* has had nothing but a rotating door in the field of Managers and Assistant Managers. The Seldin Company didn't even have respect to come out to the ************* and tell their residents why this was happening and what was going on. either time this has happened or anytime this has happened which is a lot. If the shoe was on the other foot and they were residents here being treated like **** I don't think they would like it any more than the residents at ************* likes it either. Seldin needs to come here and explain itself to the residents instead of leaving them in the dark. They also need to listen how the residents feel, and not just think they can explain their actions away and think that makes good. Michelle had meetings with us to say things and listen to us as well . The Seldins should hear people out and not just scoop things under the rug. That's all I am asking for on behalf of the residents here at *************. It's not going to be easy for them to find better MANAGEMENT today the way society is that people don't want to work and if you can't find someone with more compassion and understanding to work with ************* residents tahn you are going to be looking for a long time. Wait till you are this old and want Respect and Compassion and don't find it. I feel sorry for you. *******************************************************************************************************d work things out better than you do.

I don't think much of the response that I received from Seldin. They just think they can leave the residents of ************* in the dark about why all the Managers and Assistant Managers before we lived here and after we have lived here have either gotten Fired and or been given no alternatives to either quit or be fired is an acceptable way to treat people. *********************************************************************************************************************************** None of them were good. Seldin is not perfect by any means of the word. They should not be allowed to skirt their issues under the rug as they have done. It never entered their mind to come to ************* to listen to what the residents are saying. Michelle ****** gave us the the opportunity to tell her how we were feeling so we got our feelings out in the air. Seldin should of had enough sense to do it in the respect of the residents of *************. You of all companies should understand your not perfect complaint ********************************************************. If you can't work it out with a person and come to reasonable work out answer than that doesn't say much for you as a company. You would rather be Judge, Jury, and Hangman. Someone gives you an opinion and you disagree to a point of either they leave or you fire them. There are not a whole lot of people at ************* as residents that respect Seldin. That is why you should have enough respect for them to come and listen to them it wouldn't hurt you to do it.
