      The owner ********************* did a bait and switch by promising to stain my home and even brought the stain over to show me that it matched and charged me for the stain. After the job was completed it was discovered that his crew used latex paint instead of the stain he promised. He has slow played working towards a resolution and repeatedly denied using latex paint. He has failed to produce receipts that showed he did in fact purchase the agreed upon stain. On 25April2024 he showed up for a walkthrough and commenced to scream and yell obscenities at me. He finished his tirade by stating that he was not going to do anything to make anything right. This was done loud enough for neighbors to hear including my family that was inside my home.

      We painted ****'s house in April/May 2023. I have known **** for 10 years through our work at the fire department. I will address the bait and switch comment. Paint costs me $4 more per gallon than Solid Stain so it would not be in my financial interest to paint a house rather than to stain it. The contract written by ******, attached, describes the job as paint with color match and her e-mail to **** and the ********** assigned to the job also describes the project as Paint rather than Stain. This is important to highlight how paint ended up on the siding rather than stain. **** had me go to his house to ensure that we were matching exactly to the color he had on the siding. He did tell me he wanted solid stain when I was there and I was able to get the matched formula for the color to give to the Job Site Supervisor. I do believe that I did tell our office that the customer is selecting stain but somewhere the message was lost. The paint crew followed the instructions on the contract and the e-mail correspondence. **** did not realize that paint was used rather than Solid Stain because they look the same when applied. The realization came 8 months later when he looked at the paint can we had left with the color and he saw it was paint not solid stain. I also did not know that paint was applied as I also did not observe the cans. **** is requesting a 100% refund on the project which I disagree with since he claimed that we reduced the value of his home. I would request that **** follow the insurance claim process that our office staff can help him with.
