    “New owners” took over (handed down to next generation). This is not the place to go if you want to get away and relax. The new owners are changing everything and have no respect doing so. They are arrogant, rude, and disrespectful. They embarrassed us in front of our children and called all of our belongings trash numerous times. You essentially have to have a brand new camper to be a seasonal here. Nothing less. If you want to be respected, find another campground because you will not be respected here.

    We’re disappointed that you chose this approach to expressing your displeasure with our decision instead of coming to talk with us. Since you have, we feel it necessary to share the full picture. While we officially purchased the campground this year, we have been actively involved in its management for a decade and are simply continuing to execute policies and procedures that have been in place for many years. Nothing has changed. We enjoyed having your parents camp with us, without issue, for 13 years before you took over the seasonal site from them. Over the course of the three years that you have been seasonal campers, we have not once received a site deposit or season payment on time. We have repeatedly contacted you to obtain payment and are ignored for months at a time. We find it ironic that you bring up the matter of respect. Last year we didn’t receive payment for the site you had used all summer long until the day before the campground closed for the season. Despite this, we still offered you the option to renew your site for this summer. In July of this year, after once again failing to receive payment on time, we reached out to you to inquire about the status. In response, we were “informed” that we would receive payment two weeks later – a full two and a half months after it was due. At no point in the last three years have you reached out to discuss extenuating circumstances, or request a payment plan, you simply did not pay until asked repeatedly. Nor did you return the paperwork you are required to submit as part of the agreement to have a seasonal site at Wakeda, despite our multiple requests that you do so. The decision not to invite a seasonal camper back is not one we approach lightly. In this situation, with the lack of communication and respect for our policies and us, it was clear that this was simply not a good fit and was not fair to all our other campers to hold you to a different standard.
    With regard to your comment about us referencing ‘all your belongings as trash’, if you will recall, the actual items being discussed were pieces of a collapsed screenroom that had been removed from the trailer and piled up next to your shed. We simply asked that they be disposed of properly.
    We hope this provides some clarification of this review.
