      **************** could use an upgrade. The amount of times Ive had to call to resolve an issue is astounding nevermind the different answers I get each time. If I could leave no stars I would.

      Very incompetent in every aspect of the business, I cant even pay for my bill directly to the company because they want us to pay more through third party. I last received my statement over a year ago. I dont even know how much gas I am using monthly, all I receive is how much I owe liberty.

      I am a senior citizen and made a mistake paying my bill through my phone and added an extra 1 and overpaying my electric bill by $1,000.00 in July. I called Liberty Electric and told them of my mistake and asked if they could send me a refund. I was told that they could not refund my money and it would stay on my account until it was used. I told them I was moving in August and would no longer have them. They said it would 6-8 weeks before a refund would be sent after the last bill. I gave them my new address. I called them in November since I still had not received the refund. They informed they sent it to my old address and now they will have to see if someone else cashed it before they will give me my money back. I live on a limited income and this is ridiculous.

      I was slightly behind with my bill and I never received any notices from Liberty stating the gas was being turned off. Had I been aware I would have paid the $167 to avoid this and of course they wait to turn it off on of the coldest fall days. I should have received phone calls with voice messages stating to avoid service interruption bill must be paid by xyz date. I am enrolled in e-bills and communication and I dont have any notice shut off letter. Now since I came home work it is after hours and no way to contact anyone. The balance is paid as of now but now left with no heat or gas. This is unfair business practices and notices should be made to the consumer. It all a monopoly as there are no other gas providers that we can choose from otherwise I would not be with Liberty Utilities at all.

      I am absolutely horrified with this company. My aunt passed away a year ago. I notified them and sent a death certificate as they requested. They told me they had final billed and made me open a new account number under my name. I was not comfortable with this, but I am handling her estate so I did it. For an entire year I have been paying her bills and they continued to send my dead aunt letters threatening to shut off electricity for an overdue bill. She owes them nothing. I have been paying her bills. You cannot charge two different people the same bill for the same address. And just today I got a letter from a collection agency. Again she owes them nothing and is still dead. I will be seeking legal action at this point as they are non responsive at this point.

      June 2022 had solar installed, liberty took almost a month to install a net meter and gave me $25 for my trouble, meanwhile who knows how much I actually fed the grid.
      Oct 2022 had to take over an apartment from a tenant. Set up the account, got the welcome email for registering online. Set up auto pay. Never received a bill to my mailing address in the same town. Had the account in my name for 2 months.
      Sept 2023 Divorced and moving into the apartment, find out the bills for the place were never paid from the two months it was in my name. Nearly $500 for two months of electricity use in a vacant 600 sq ft studio. Liberty tells me I have to pay the bills to get service.
      They claim I knew about the bills. The online portal is devoid of any information about the bills, just shows my current primary residence account as being paid up, no past due bills. In fact, the account in question did at one point show on the online portal(and was set to autopay), but now I'm missing any record of it from the online portal
      They gave me no notice of this past due balance over the last10 months. No calls, no emails, no notices of amount going to collections. The 4 times I called in early 2023 to ask why their autopay still wasn't working? Nope, didn't tell me then. Now that I alerted them to their error, I have to pay it all or it goes to collections.
      They claim to have sent notices, but I received none. They never threatened to shut off my electricity, they were just sitting on this debt until I needed new service.
      I contacted the PUC and they are siding with Liberty. I was also contacted by a 'third party' about collecting a debt. They had the amount, they had my address, but when they went to confirm my address I refused because who the hell calls for a debt besides scammers? Liberty hasn't actually sent it to collections yet(confirmed on the phone just now), but somehow a debt collector has my info... Absolutely trash company, trash website and no respect for paying customers.

      This Business is the absolute worst. First, they set up my account wrong. Second, they took all of my information and made a new account without telling me. I did not get any notices between Dec - Aug, and when they finally emailed me, my bill was $2000. After getting a rep on the line, the first guy hung up on me. The second lady was somewhat helpful, said she could remove any late fee's and said a manager would call me back. Clearly, I never got a call back. When I got sick of waiting around, I called back 3 weeks later to see if anything was being worked on. They refused to dismiss any late fee's, which is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous. I did not feel like fighting anymore, so I signed up for their payment plan. After I made the first payment of $520, I called to make sure it was on the correct account. Apparently, the lady who set up my plan set it up wrong AGAIN. My payment posted as a credit and not towards the bill.Honestly, this company is a complete joke to me, and I feel so sorry for ANYONE who has to deal with this non-sense. I want to move my recording studio to an area where I DO NOT HAVE TO DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE. Obviously nothing will get resolved with this matter. Hopefully when I pay it all off Monday things will go back to normal. I don't usually leave reviews, but I felt I had to say SOMETHING even if it falls on deaf ears, which it will. For such a big company, it's incredible how incompetent everyone is over there. The website is useless and doesn't even tell you the overall balance on your account.

      Horrible experience with Liberty customer service, who thinks its my problem that their app doesn’t work with iphone and believes there is nothing else they can do to update their website software that doesn’t work with common web browsers. And then charging a fee to set up recurring direct bank payments?
      I have yet to receive any surface mail from Liberty. Maybe that’s because Liberty is using the wrong physical address to my property – including the wrong town name and wrong zip code – which doesn’t match any existing official physical or postal address. And then they shrug it off as if it’s the post office fault. I have never seen a utility company so incompetent!

      Liberty swapped the billing for my mothers account over to budget billing with no explanation as to why. then proceeded to charge her 121 a month for several months of her not using services. I have been on the account sense the beginning and have handled all issues with the service, until today 06/19/2023. Today i call and Liberty refused to assist in even allowing me to pay the current bill. Stating i had to provide my mothers social after a year of allowing me todo so. With me as a authorized user. I am leaving this review as a notice to all around. this business is poorly ran and from what I can see are scamming the community out of alot of money. From speaking with the neighbors and surrounding area they have all canceled there services with Liberty due to there unethical billing practices and price gauging of services.

      In the last 2 months I have received bills three times larger than I have since moving in my house 35 years ago. My bill has gone from less than a $100 to a bill almost $500. I called customer service to find out why, and the customer service rep tells me that the gas prices have changed and that we have had some cold days. I was trying to tell her that was still no reason for my bill to be that high for the last 2 months . She was really nice-nasty (rude) and condescending, and since I did not except that reason she then tells me that my meter was not read but that they estimated the reading of my CCF usage and that someone came out later and read my meter and I will get a revised bill without the late fees after I had to insist on that. She also had the nerve to ask if I wanted to pay anything on the estimated bill. I just wonder now if I had not contacted them and paid that bill would they have done the right thing and gave me credit for future bills or continue to rip me off by over charging me for gas I have not been using. Liberty Utilities customers beware of their scam.
