    I joined Jersey Strong in June and initially signed up for personal training when I was told that I would be able to change my commitment at any time. Later, in September, I realized that the price and time were not working for my budget and schedule so I asked to cancel the personal training portion on my membership. I was only then informed that I had signed a year long, non-changeable contract. I proceeded to quit the gym altogether. A month later, in October, I was charged for the personal training, even though I had already quit the gym. I was then informed that cancelling personal training required a separate cancellation from the gym membership. I tried to do so, and was told I could not. I am filing this complaint because they have created a membership with no option for cancellation and we're not up front about this. It is one thing to charge a cancellation fee that members are aware of upon signing a contract, but to prevent cancellation at all is ridiculous. I want to cancel my personal training membership so I am not charged monthly, and if possible be refunded for the month I was charged for after I thought I had cancelled the membership. Ideally I also want this complaint to draw attention to their underhanded practices so that they change them going forward.
