      Do NOT use this company! I have been consistently discriminated against by several NJM employees and their upper management. Their adjuster saw both my son and are black and there came the discrimination even after being their customer for 4 year's.

      In New Jersey it has been legal since 2015 to show your insurance card downloaded to your smartphone. NJM has YET to implement this capability for its policy holders. That means if you need a new insurance card for whatever reason, you CANNOT legally drive your car until that new insurance card arrives in the mail. I believe NJM is the only insurance company in ** that does not have this capability. If you don't want to put up with this inconvenience, find another insurance company.

      NJM is the worst insurance company in the state of new jersey, If you have an accident NJM will make your life a living ****, they will make the check out to the insured and finance company, so it will take you week if not months getting the finance company to endorse it. so NJM keeps your money in their bank account longer, every other insurance company pays your body direct, so you can get your vehicle back ASAP, but if you go to the shop NJM recommends, Funny thing, they pay them with no finance company on the check, but your vehicle most likely will not be put back to pre accident condition. because those shops are out to help the insurance, not the insured.

      I switched from State Farm to NJM because they had good reviews. I had 3 policies switched over - auto, homeowners, and umbrella. When I was finalizing the auto policy, they said I could get a discount for completing a driver course within 3 years. I sent them one from 2021 but they said they only accept 4 approved courses. So, my husband and I took the 7 hour course and submitted the certificate. Now they're saying they can't use it because it can only be applied at renewal!Why was this not said at the beginning, before we both wasted a lot of time (14 hours total) and money to complete the course? I would have gone to another company or enrolled for the course before I switched over, or maybe just before my renewal date because the certificate is only good for 3 years. And they only give yearly policies so I effectively just wasted 1 year of the certificate.Thanks NJM, not I'm not even sure if I want to renew with you because of your deceptive practices.

      Their handling of claims is very bad. They force you to use unauthorized shops that *** cause bigger issues for the car if they make mistakes. I brought up this issue, but they did not address it. Customer satisfaction is not their concern.

      I am a relatively new customer of NJM. Because three of my children drive, I am constantly concerned and bought auto insurance accordingly. In a freak accident, a friend of the family aged 80, totaled our car while borrowing it when he drove off our driveway into a ditch. Not the accident we expected. NJM was excellent. The interactions with their personnel were both professional and pleasant. The settlement was both **************. Thanks.

      I called in a hail claim to NJM. They sent an appraiser who openly accused me of insurance fraud, The appraiser asked me "if I had a ball peen hammer as there were many dings on my roof". The appraiser also stated that "I probably drove my vehicles to my home when the storm started". When showed the white round marks on my air conditioner he stated "how do i know those marks were not caused by your kids playing baseball". Great way to handle claims.

      It has been 10 business days and no response from New Jersey manufacturers insurance. They obviously choose not to respond when deceptive claims practices have been exposed.

      New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance is NOT the company they used to be. After 30 years as a customer, we cancelled our auto and homeowners policies with them and went with Progressive Insurance. And we saved nearly $2,000 a year on our combined policies! The stories that I read here match what I experienced after an accident on 5/3/22. The other driver was at fault and had no insurance. But NJM's claims rep didn't determine this. A Progressive claims rep did, within 24 hrs! This is because the other driver had a fraudulent insurance ID card in possession, which had a fake Progressive ** Insurance ID code and policy number on it. No thanks to my NJM rep, OR her supervisor who also ignored several of my voice messages. After 7 WEEKS, NJM still failed to investigate my claim or seek subrogation for my $500 deductible! This is disgraceful. And as of 8/1/22, we cancelled our NJM policies and transferred to Progressive. Their claims and customer service are available 24/7, they are polite, knowledgeable, and their rates will show how much NJM over charges customers. I have now left numerous messages to get proof of my loss from NJM to provide to the Prosecutor who is handling the case, so that I can recover my $500 deductible from the other driver. And as usual, NO CALL BACK. My next step is to file a complaint with the ** Div. of Banking and Insurance.
