    My 7yo autistic son had an incident in the pool. I had to pull him out if camp. I oaid $1500 for 5 weeks of summer camp. And he only went one week. They refuse to refund the rest of the weeks he didnt go to camp

    Been ***** YMCA (**********************************************) family member for over 6 years. During pandemic the YMCA was closed. However, I kept paying membership fees. When I called for refund on the membership fee when the YMCA was closed, I was told that due to supporting the YMCA community even if it was closed, for years - as appreciation YMCA will put back few thousand dollars in my account that I can use toward ***** YMCA. But it never happened. I called and left messages multiple times, I emailed *********************- ************************************ ************************************* ************************************* earlier this year, again. I followed up multiple times, I was told someone will get back to me but till date never heard or received any email response. I have put on my membership on hold as it costs me $91.20/month. I need help to resolve and get refund. I plan to cancel my membership as I do not believe I can put it on hold for any longer than 3 months.

    We reached a satisfactory resolution with ************************* regarding her request for a membership refund. 

     

    Although we could not find any written request from ***** from the past three years regarding the ***** credit program that we offered in 2020 or any other request to cancel her membership prior to May 2023, we made an exception to our cancellation policy and refunded 3 months of membership fees.

     

    Our cancellation policy is as follows:

     

    Should I decide to terminate my membership, the Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges requires written notice 14 days in advance of the next billing date to cancel a membership.  Membership cancellation paperwork must be submitted in person or via email.  After receipt of written notification and fulfilment of the required 14 day notice, the YMCA will end the pre-authorized charges to my credit/debit card or my checking account.  No refund will be given for a bank draft that occurs during the 14 day cancellation period. Membership fees are not refundable. My membership participation will be active through the last day that has been paid for.
