    After trying to cancel my membership for over 8 months and endless phone calls back and forth I was finally told the absolute only way to cancel my membership was to mail a certified letter to the gym I had originally signed up at which I moved away from over 8 months ago. I was told countless different cancellation options by employees who answered when I would call this location, and month after month would still find myself having to call back because another charge had gone through. Only to find out about the letter finally and be told that they dont understand why anyone had told me I could cancel any other way than in person or via certified letter. Also was told I would most likely not be reimbursed for the last 8 months even though I have emails from planet fitness confirming my cancellation and proof that I should have not been charged for all of the allotted time. They have an option to cancel via app and online and I was told that is not actually a real option and they do not take those features seriously. So why the h*** is it an option and why the h*** was I emailed a confirmation saying my membership was successfully canceled? Well apparently the fine print of your paper contract states that you while those options are presented to you and not clarified in anyway that they dont actually work the only way to cancel is in person or certified letter. The information that states this is in the contract they never gave me a copy of I might add. Shady. Im absolutely disgusted and horrified with the customer service and general way this business runs itself.
