      SELECT HOME WARRANTY IS A COMPLETE FRAUD
      SELECT HOME WARRANTY IS THE WORST COMPANY EVER
      SELECT HOME WARRANTY - DON'T DO IT - RUN - THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY
      This is the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with in my 50+ years of life. They will take you money and make absolute sure that you never see a dime back through a claim. Claim's are done on-line. After that they have 48 hours to find a business to come check on your claim. The business often takes another few days to come evaluate the repairs needed. Once they receive the estimate from the business that Select contracts with, it takes another 48 hours for them to decide how they will proceed. It's usually followed up with them requesting additional information and another 48 hours. They will never pay your claim. You will never speak to a representative in this country and they will never transfer your call to the U.S. or a supervisor. The call hold times are long and never resolved, the call center employees are difficult to understand as they do not speak good English. This company is horrible. I plan to sue them and smear their name on every social media platform possible.

      EDIT to the stars above- negative 10 stars! As with the other thousands of complaints on here against Select, Ive never had a claim honored yet (filed 2, and today the 3rd, waiting for call).
      First item was a dishwasher, after 2 weeks waiting for a call back from the technician with a date/time to install needed parts they said Select denied the claim, parts were too expensive.
      Then the HVAC, compressor was bad, which required vacumn & recharge of freon, they dont cover freon, so wouldnt replace the bad parts. Spoke to them today and asked how I can login & see all of my account info, they asked what I want to see, I said everything, when I paid, term of contract, claims, everything. They said they dont offer a login but would be happy to tell me anything i need. I then asked if my CC is on file, wanted to verify, then asked if it should be a CC or debit. I said I want ANY card on file deleted, he said they cant do that. I said I want to be sure my contract is not auto renewed, the reply was that someone will contact me about 1 month out from expiration to see if I want to renew.
      They hide EVERYTHING, have loopholes for EVERYTHING and deny EVERY claim, stay away!

      Worst company EVER!! I’m reading all the complaints and it’s the same with all!! They set me up with a company that was closed- I called already a dozen times in a week! Told them company is closed and they told me they had to wait to confirm this- from a closed company?? Then set me up with another that does not service my area- twice was told this, another call- such joy dealing with these morons... everybody is sorry and they understand... supervisor is the same as all the rest... going to continue to fight but Please never ever spend a Nicole on this company!!

      I am on the phone with the company as I am writing this. My mother set up a policy with this so called "company" some time back. Fast forward to 2020, my father's fridge needs repair, and when he tried to file a claim, the rep told him that he DID NOT have a policy because it expired but yet still taking money from his bank account. HE paid someone else to come out and fix the fridge. NOW, 6 months ago, his fridge needs fixing again, and it was the same thing, no policy but yet they were STILL taking money from him from the time of his last call till NOW. I told him to get ahold of a supervisor to get his money back and to close his account. He gets a call from the supervisor ONLY to be told where is our money because you do have a policy and the harassing call keep on happening. As of 08/12/22, I have been on the phone for an hour and 30 minutes to be told that they will "cancel" his "policy", we need to pay a cancellation fee, and a refund is not possible. I told them to shove the cancellation fee where the sun don't shine and a lawyer will be calling. These people are scammer and need to be held accountable for their actions. I cannot believe that a business like this is still open.

      100% Feels like theft. They’re highway robbers protecting themselves with “I understand how you feel” call center support. I purchased a 5 year policy with as much coverage as they sell. Every single claim is rejected. Warning to all!!!!! Do not use this company. You will lose money and still have to pay for the repairs out of pocket. Home warranties are more dangerous than timeshares. Going on our fifth call to try and cancel. Nightmare!!

      I have had 2 claims with Select Homes and both experiences have been horrible.

      10 days later, my recent and open claim for a minor repair (frig ice maker) is still open and no one seems to be able to escalate the case so a technician who knows what they are doing and are professional at what they do can come and fix the minor issue.

      It has been 10 days now since my initial contact for repairs. Select Home does not care to follow up on repairs and see if they are getting done in a timely manner or at all.

      The technician that was sent seems not interested in the job and Select Home does not care to rush this to get the repair done with another technician.

      When you call Select Home all you hear are a bunch of "I am sorry' that are just pointless words being recited from scripts. Actions speak louder! If you are truly sorry, get on top of your claims and see that they are getting done satisfactorily.

      When these guys sell policies they sound so sincere and feed us a bunch of lies that everything is covered, until a claim comes and the team tries their best to decline the claim sighting "This is not covered" by the policy.

      That is what happened to me; "ice maker is not covered" and I ended up paying $120 for it and a terrible repair service that I have not received.

      Select Home has disappointed me again If you can avoid them, go with someone else; but these warranty companies are all garbage. Six-of-one, half-a-dozen the other.

      BIG SCAM...If you are planning to get Select Home warrnty policy thne DON'T DO IT. You money will be wasted and your appliance will not be fixed in timely manner. I had put up a claim on my diswhawher on 07/12. Till today none of the technician attended the dishwasher. They claim to provide service within 48 hours but it is all white lies. After raising claim I didn't get any response so called up on 07/15 to the home warranty company. I beedn given a tenative date of 07/20 and also they asked me to pay call out charge upfront. I have raised question and said why I have to wait so long and need to speak to supervisor. After long conversion, line was ended by the support staff but never got a call from anyone. I again called up on 08/05 as nothing happened to my claim. Again spent almost two hours on the call with vairous people as they don't know which is the right department to handle my query. After spending 2 hours on call, customer service rep told me to raise a inquire in my case and told me that her manager will call me. Again nothing happened and I got email yesterday (08/08) saying my policy was cancelled and charged $75 cancellation fees. I was very disappointed and didn't know what to do but eventually called them as my unit didn't fix and I have to pay wrong fee. After 75 min on call, I been told that the policy was cancelled in error and they have issued refund. Reallly... I have to go through this to fix dishwahser eveny after paying their fees on timely manner. Today again (08/09), some one called and took fees to book appointment for technican to come and fix. They booked on 08/16 but I got message from technician that they will come on 08/17... This is very pathatic and no one knows what is going on. I strongly suggest to not fall in their marketing gimmicks and buy new policy.

      I purchased a Select Home Warranty May 21, 2021 (for 5 years/O' stupid me ). Never filed a claim until this July 31, 2022. Upon returning home to SW Florida and finding my AC was not working (it was 88 degrees in the house and very humid). The claims dept. forwarded it to dispatch and they informed me they couldn't get some to come out until Aug.8. Needless to say we could not wait that long and hired a tech to repair it! That cost us $99. Not bad for AC service. But when one considers we spent $2250. on a 5 yr. Select Home Warranty and got all but ignored, it wasn't such a deal! Also we filled a pluming claim 2 days later because a commode won't fill with water? The claims dept. claim they can't find a plummer!? After several attempts to get service, I was told to get one on my own. That meant having the plummer to call them and get approval and the might approve of their fix??? I know the I have a deductible but isn't that their job is to procure the tech/plummer? Here we are on Aug. 9 and no plummer has contacted us( I guess I'll have to hire my own plummer)! I guess since they don't want to compensate these repair people enough, this is what we the customer get. I would like to get out of this deal (warranty) and get compensated for the unused time left on the warranty! Lynn S.

      Crooks, scam artists, time wasters and completely unprofessional! Don’t waste your time and money. All incompetent, don’t hold up their end of the contract, no return calls, hung up on repeatedly. I am on my 4th manager and it’s the worst customer experience I have had in over 30 years of being in business. The owner/s officers should be thrown in jail for fraud!

      Sadly I can see from every single review that everyone has the same horrible experience.

      Why doesn’t the BBB go after these types of companies that are clearly scamming their customers?

      About 1 month ago I called SHW to report my air conditioner had stopped working. An excellent repairman was sent, who told me the motor had died and that he could have a replacement in hand by the next day, providing that SHW approved it. The motor was original equipment and was about 20+ years old. It had lasted longer than anticipated.
      I immediately called SHW to see if I they could expedite the approval. I explained there were three reasons why I needed the approval expedited.
      1. I am elderly
      2. I am disabled
      3. We were experiencing extreme heat
      The SHW person who answered my call said it usually took 1-2 days for approval and there was nothing he could do to expedite it. I asked for his supervisor, hoping perhaps he or she could help me. After I explained my circumstances, he said all he could do was send an email to the approval people. He said there was no way I could be connected to anyone in the United States and that he didn’t have a phone number for me to call, or an email for me to use. It took over a week for the approval process, which should have been a no brainer. During that week I called numerous times, only to be read the same script by a different employee.
      I was never contacted to tell me my claim had been approved. But, the local A/C man sent out by SHW was. He relayed to me that even though he had the same OEM part, that SHW insisted they send their part to me. At my request, my local A/C man gave me the information on the motor I needed so I could relay it to SHW to ensure I received the correct part. SHW confirmed the part number and told me they were ordering it on Amazon. Like every other time I called I explained my circumstances and asked if I could get the part myself and be reimbursed, or if their local tech could use his part. Like before, I received the same response each time likely read from a script. It was also reaffirmed I could not be connected to anyone with the ability to expedite my case.
