DO NOT PURCHASE THIS WARRANTY. They take your money and do whatever they can to avoid paying for items. I have filed numerous claims and they deny, deny, deny. Their policies have so much fine print, you get a headache trying to read it. They always find a loophole. I recently filed a claim because my 25-year-old AC unit needs to be replaced - not functioning properly. They indicated that the system needed to be upgraded, rather than replaced and of course the coverage does not include an upgrade. They are fraudsters.

If I could give it zero stars I would. Save your money! This company does not give you enough money to replace any breakdown. Had I not paid the premiums for SHW, I could have replaced my washer with top of the line Speedqueen!

My AC has a problem with cooling. I submitted a service request at 8am and by 11am Select had found a technician to come out to have a look at it, and fix the issues. Overall very good experience

Sold me on a home warranty where all I had to pay was trade fee, and then first claim I had to do they made me pay for labor. I will be going back to ************ after the prepaid year is up, as I never had this issue in my three years with them.

Had an electrical issue in the kitchen. Made a claim with *** and they sent an electrician out 3 days later. Bad electrician! He made something up about wires being broken due to mice (that we don't have), replaced the **** unit with a regular outlet and then spliced it with the neighboring light switch...taking it out of code. Called shw about it and they sent another (better) electrician out who did an outstanding job and fixed it back to working and in code. Then our dryer belt broke...shw sent out a repairman who found the issue in 5 minutes but didn't have the part. 3 days later it was fixed quick with a knowledgeable and very nice repairman. We've used SHW a few times with absolutely no speed bumps or issues. Will continue business with this home warranty company.

I have a policy for each of my houses. So far I'm extremely disappointed! I filled a claim in June for my HAVC unit, it was denied because of a Freon leak. That cost me, $75.00 service plus the $150.00 for Freon charge. And I had to replace unit $7600.00.Needed my ** Direct Drive Washing machine repaired, service tech came out told me it needed a new Inlet Water Valve. He didn't have one on his truck but would order one and come back to install it. A few days later their "SERVICE ***** contacted me and stated that the washer was determined to be unrepairable. Stated that the part wasn't available till the end of July! But they would send me a check for $150.00 to go against the depreciated value of my washer, after i go out and purchase a new one! Their sales pitch was "If we can't repair it we will replace it, with a " like model" Their deception in advertising is criminal. I ask up front if the age of the appliance mattered. The sales man said no it doesn't matter. The claim denial was based on an outright lie, that the part was unavailable, till late July. I ordered one and received it the very next day! and installed it myself. Washer works great, I didn't want a new washer, I expected them to fix a fairly simple repair. I'm out $75.00 for service call and $158.00 for the new water inlet valve. I contacted them last week about cancelling my policy's. Of course they had all kinds of high sales pressure talk how I should give them another chance. Last week *** ***** (customer service) stated that they would charge me $50.00 to cancel both my policy's, today they said it would cost $75 each policy! There again when I bought the policy, I was told I could cancel any time. I really believe they target elderly people with their sales pitch! The guy today tried to convince me I was only out $8.00! Because they would send me a $150.00 check when I send them a receipt for my part that I spent $158.00 for, and did my own repairs. I WANT OUT!!!

A 24 page agreement with the first 6 pages as to what the agreement covers and in large font and remaining pages the Service contract in smaller font. Their advertisement => the age of a home or its systems and appliances does not matter to Select. Then my heat pump stopped cooling. The service technician came out and it appears problem is as a result of a freon leak. Select Home Warranty then informed me that it does not cover that. Keep in mind that after years of the outside unit turning on and off and the vibrations that take place I am not surprised that a crack in the line could happen which would result in a freon leak. BUT that's not covered. There are other exclusions. Now I have to decide if I stay with Secure.
