I continue to receive junk mail every two to three weeks soliciting for WATER LINE SERVICE which my homeowner's insurance covers. Not many people can afford to pay $10.99, and the City of ******* took it upon themselves to "Partner" with this company. They are using the City of Phoenix logo on their solicitation, thus confusing customers and making them think it is a ********************** bill. This deceptive practice is annoying and I want the mail to cease and desist.Business Response

I never signed up for electric line services and they are billing me for such.i signed up for gas line protection and specifically stated I have an outdoor pool and a gas grill and specifically asked if they would be covered. I was told YES! I needed service today for the gas line to my grill. I was told no benefits are available. I was then advised that I have electric coverage. I did not ask for or sign up for this coverage. I was misled on the gas line issues and I am being charged for a electric line coverage that I do not need nor want. I spoke to ***** and she denied me the right to speak to a manager. I asked her at least 6 times to speak to a manager and she denied me that right. She stated I can only cancel the service at the next billing cycle and not now. That I will continue to be billed for up to 2 more additional months. I have been calling and even filed a complaint that I cannot log in on line. I spoke to management before on this issue and they state there is a "ONGOING" issue to get customers signed up on line. If One could see their accounts online there would be a greater understanding. I cannot see my account online nor control what is going on with my account and with that this company has arbitrarily added electric services that I did not want or ask for. Furthermore the only services I should have are water line and sewer line services after cancelling the gas line protection that was sold to me based on incorrect information.Business Response

Subject: *************************************** and Overcharges To Whom It May Concern,I am writing to express my extreme frustration with the poor service and mishandling of my recent claim. I pay nearly $200 per month for your service, and on 5/13, I submitted a claim for heating and cooling. Your representative charged $150 to my card and $50 to my husbands card, claiming it was a mistake. He assured me that the matter would be escalated to upper management and that a technician would come out between 15 PM.I called back the next day to reschedule and check on the refund, but the operator said there was no record of my claim or any refund. I spent almost two hours on the phone, after which I was issued a new claim number and was told the issue would again be escalated to **************** (5/15), I called at 3 PM to check the technician status. The representative said he saw no order for a technician and no record of my refund. After placing me on hold multiple times, he said the technician canceled the appointment. I asked for a supervisor, which took over an hour, and unfortunately, the supervisor was no help. I received no resolution, no refund, and no follow-up ******* 9 PM, I called back since I had not heard from anyone. I was given yet another claim number and still no confirmed service date, and was informed they did not know their corporate information even after I called off work today, and as an essential worker, that is not easy to ***** this point, I have received no service, have been overcharged, and have spent hours on the phone with no resolution. I expect a full refund of the incorrect charges (I was only supposed to be charged $50), and I am requesting compensation on my monthly bill due to the complete lack of service and poor communication. Please address this matter immediately.Sincerely,Asantewah ******* ***** MSN, FNP B-C ******************** ************Business Response

On 3/5 I called *** and requested cancellation of service that I was paying through American Water via my water bill each month. Mind you that that the water bill is in my name. Because the *** services were in someone else's name, ********* asked me to write a letter explaining that the water bill is my name and the *** services although not in my name should be cancelled immediately. I was then billed for these services for March with no response back from ***. I called again on 4/2 and was told that the email would not suffice and that I needed the person on the *** account to come forward to cancel the plan. On 4/2 my ex-husband, **** called and emailed *** to cancel the account. He cc'd me. I called on 5/5 and spoke to ******, he said he would get back to me in which he did not. Again, no response and again I was charged for these services. On 5/14 I called again after seeing that I would be charged again for May. I spoke with *** or Vee and she made me do a 3-way call with **** to cancel the account, as she's claimed that ****** email was not received. The customer service is poor and these ******************** are too expensive. Why couldn't I cancel these services when the American Water is solely in my name? I am requesting a refund for MARCH, APRIL AND MAY 2025 b/c of the inconvenience. People are hurting for money and can hardly pay their bills and yet this company just negates to follow up and continues with exuses and misleading solutions so they can keep taking your money each month. It's simply not fair.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
My current **** ***** shows that I am being charged for these insurances after Jasmine said the fees were removed. I never heard back from Jasmine about a plan for reimbursement for the previous months. The last time I heard from her, she was supposed to be doing all she could to rectify the situation. Ive been trying to cancel these insurances since March. I would strongly suggest you change your policies to allow only the holder of the water bill authority to purchase these insurances in the future. Anyone else whose name is not on the water bill should not be able to purchase insurance.

AWR has been absolutely horrid. I previously had a warranty service with another company for years with no claim payment issues but switched to *** because they had some coverages not available at the previous company. We enrolled in Nov '24. In Feb '25, we had freezing weather causing pipes to freeze at a rental property. I called *** and was told to make sure it wasnt a City problem. A plumber came out, said pipes were frozen and nothing could be done until they thawed. Once everything thawed, I called AWR again. They opened a claim but couldn't find a plumber. We got a text saying we could find a plumber on our own and they would reimburse us. I called to verify that the text was correct. I was assured it was and they emailed me a reimbursement request form.A plumber came and estimated $5653.55 for the repairs. I called *** to verify coverage for water line/sewer repairs. I was told the limit was $7000 for each. I also got a call and text from *******, verifying information. She sent me new reimbursement requests because she said the claim needed to be separated into one claim for the water line and one for the sewer. We got a loan, had the work done and sent in the requests for reimbursement. They sent us a check for $1800.00 with no explanation about the remaining $3853.55 payment. We assumed that payment was for one of the claims. I sent an email and the reply said that was the total payment. I have made many long calls, getting a different person each time, been told someone would call me back after reviewing, with no one ever calling me back. The last call resulted in them telling me that they do not cover repairs due to frozen pipes. Never did anyone say that to me when I made it very clear up front that the problem was frozen pipes. I was told it was in the terms. After my tirade telling them how worthless they are and explaining that I would cancel all 5 houses I had with them, the guy had the audacity to ask if I would like another product they have.Business Response

On March 14th, 2024 I called this insurance company to tell them we had plumbing issues. The plumbing was backed up and and the outside water line was broken. The company had no one in the county to fix our sewer lines. We finally got them to consider our own plumber. But they only give rebates. The cost for everything came to $12096. They keep making excuses to deny the claim. We were told we had up to $6000 coverage per incident originally. They are frauds, scammers, and negligent. They find all kinds of ways to get out of doing what they promised and are marketing. They told me that I could use my own plumber and they would reimburse but they lied. I did get my own and they are making all these excuses like the plumbing is not up to code and it was plumbing error that caused the issue.
But here is the worse one. May 4th, 2025 they told me they don't cover if the sewer line needs to be replaced or is damaged. This all of a sudden comes up after all this time. They are trying to make every excuse not to fix what is broken. We got this insurance to cover if our lines were damaged so they lied to us when we purchased it. And as for the water line they keep picking apart small things in the quote. They say they don't fix hose bibbs. That was going to be done free. The plumber was saying that that may be because of the blocked sewer line. They keep saying they don't do anything that we were told we were covered for to get the plan. At first the lady, Tonia, said they would pay $4498.00 for the sewer line. I asked her why are they only paying $4498.00 when our coverage limits are $6k per incident. I also asked her to put it in writing but she didn't. After that, I can't reach her or anyone in the claims department. They just took our money and have not repaired our plumbing. Even waiting this long for them to tell us this has caused damage and is a violation. They have been negligent and caused us pain and suffering.Business Response
