These movers were contracted by Amerisafe moving company, who had originally quoted me a 2800 cross-country move. They had me sign a bunch of papers upon arrival that they didn't explain, but put pressure on me to sign before they could get started on a move that was already 4 hours late to arrival, when I had to be out the apartment ASAP. They then moved everything and charged me for things I did not ask for, including taping over boxes I had already sufficiently taped and wrapping items I didn't ask to be wrapped. After the move was conducted, the head mover told me my move was going to be about 5800 total because the cubic feet were twice what was quoted to me by Amerisafe. They also demanded that I pay them $500 in cash, which I did not have, because I was not told I would need to pay anything in cash. They had tons of extra and hidden fees that they claimed added to my quote. I essentially had to pay them because they were holding my stuff hostage on their truck. They did not give me a copy of my bill. He also denied later that he had asked for $500 cash while I was on the phone with Amerisafe explaining the situation.Initial Complaint

My journey started on 4/6/2023 when I spoke to **** from ************************ to set up my move to ************** after discussing my inventory we settled on a quote which in hindsight was too good to be true. In May I was advised my move would be handled by *********** and after reading some many negative reviews I asked if they could find me a different mover ******** at National Moving assured me they were a reputable company and I would be satisfied. I should have followed my mind because my $2500 move now cost me $6300. So today my items were delivered by a man and a woman and they put most of my stuff in the garage boxes were broken and they put the fragile at the bottom with heavy things on top of the fragile . I'm missing a 24 inch computer monitor and sitstand that sits on top of my desk and when you call they don't seem to care if your belongings are mishandled or you are not happy with the service you paid for. This is a company that should not be usedInitial Complaint

I hired this company to move my furniture from *******, ** to Fit ******************* and they lost my entire makeup kit. I am a professional makeup artist and had a big makeup kit in a luggage with almost 4k worth of makeup as that's my profession. This company dropped off all my furniture to ******* and the kit never arrived. I contacted the company to see if the kit was forgotten in the wearhouse and they said it was not. They said that the movers packed it in a box but as I opened all the boxes it never was found. I emailed them and called them again and they did admit to have lost it so they told me to contact the customer service department to file a claim. I called the customer service department and they were supposed to have started a claim and told me that a representative was going to call me in 5-7 days. And To start a list of all the missing items in the meantime. I gather the list which added to $3449.67 This claim was back in 9/15 and it is now 10/6 and no representative from the claims department has gotten back to me. I emailed the ** of the claim department twice and she still has not responded. I called them twice again and they keep not answering or calling me back. I also had to give up two gigs that I needed to provide my makeup services and I couldn't perform them since this company lost my kit and not only the $3448.67 worth of product but I already lost another 1k of income i couldn't get due to my kit being missing and this company now ghosting out on me. Please help. I have emails where they told me to file the claim, recorded calls on their lines when they admitted they lost it and emails that are unanswered.Initial Complaint

I booked a move with ****************** specialist **** on 7/5/2022 and maid a preliminary payment of $1570. With an initial estimate of $3525 for the move. I gave a detailed assessment of the items I had for my move and based on this a highly and I believe willfully inaccurate allocation of space was estimated. I later gave a more detailed assessment of the number and size of the boxes/items I had closer to the move date, which was ignored. The truck was suppose to arrive 7/22 at 9am and called at 915 to say they had to reschedule to 7/23. When they arrived, they said they didn't have enough space in the truck for all of my items despite the detailed assessment my couch (BY ITSELF) would not have fit in the allocated amount of space let alone the remaining items. I was forced to leave behind several items of value under duress. I was then threatened and demanded to pay cash for packing expenses, which I was told on the phone would be included. When the movers arrived they made up prices for ancillary costs and demanded cash payment and said they wouldn't pack or load anything unless I paid them immediately. I had no choice but to pay because I had to vacate my apartment. I then gave a detailed assessment of the earliest move in date for my new location, which was ignored. The movers then called and said they would be arriving early at the location and that if I didn't change my plans early they would put my items up for auction. They demanded I bring cash to the delivery. They then refused to provide an estimated time of arrival to the delivery other than the day August 2nd. They later said they would arrive at 5pm. They didn't arrive until 830pm at which point they demanded $300 more in cash before they would unload my items, including a $500 TV that was destroyed. Anytime I asked questions I was threatened. Everyone I talked to with this business was consistently threatening and highly unprofessional. The move in total cost $6,538 compared to $3525.Initial Complaint

Moving estimate ****** On May 25, 2022 *********** delivered my furniture & personal items to ********, which I moved to from ********. On that day, I requested copies of all paperwork. They said to call the company. I called on 6/8/22, 6/24/22, 7/5/22, and 7/25/22. I spoke to a woman named ******** each time and was told all my paperwork would be emailed to me. I had her verify my email address. Two times she had my incorrect email address listed. I asked her twice to correct it, and send me my Bills of Lading and whatever else I needed to make a claim. From her tone of voice, I got the distinct impression that she had no intention of sending me my information. I would appreciate your help getting my paperwork for me. As a side note, they increased the amount billed to me by several thousand dollars over what was quoted. I am not asking for help on this matter but thought I should let you know this for the record. They also broke several items and several items are missing. I am extremely disappointed in Stop and Move and Nationwide Movers who booked them for my move.I would appreciate any help you can give me.Initial Complaint

I booked a move from ********, ******** to ***********, ** through a company called **************************. The company never informed me that they are actually a broker. Without my knowledge or consent they outsourced my move to a company called Stop and Move. The company would only accept cash and when they arrived they doubled the price of my original quote. My items were scheduled to be delivered on July 1st, 2022. A partial deliver was made on Saturday, July 16th. Im still missing thousands of dollars of items. However, Im unable to reach anyone in customer service to provide me with any information about where my items are, and if they will be sent to me.
