Ron ********, the governor of Florida, would throw this company right out the minute they tried to supply electrical power there. Las Vegas, Nevada has virtually no weather at all and even when the wind blows lightly, the power goes out. This is abysmal for a modern-day city and a city of the caliber of Las Vegas. AND THEY'RE REQUESTING A PRICE INCREASE... HOW INSULTING!!!

The only reason I'd even give one star is cause NV Energy actually keeps the lights on. Their billing practices, transparency on odd late fee/deposit process is ridiculous. I pay the bill routinely around the middle of the month, but it might be 2-10 days later than the payment date. This month my online account shows a balance around $508 (3-5 months of electric billing). When I called to ask WHY, the rep tells me that I didn't remit a payment in March. I give him the payment confirmation number. He proceeds to go back to February and say the same, and I provide their payment confirmation number. He proceeds to tell me it was the budget billing amount that was spiking the bill... they canceled that plan since I was late for three months in a row. Again, I had to challenge this as since January I had been paying MORE on the payment plan than the bill. We finally get to the fact that I am being charged a deposit cause I'm late for three months in a row. At this point I had a good laugh, apparently the owner of the company with a net worth in excess of one hundred billion dollars can't wait a few days past their imposed due date to get a bill of $125? The best part... my bill didn't even generate :D --- This company is a colossal mess.

I know NV energy has had a lot of bad rep personally for me, they’ve been ok. I pay my bill on time. I moved to a new home that I just bought. But don’t move in till few months after getting the key due to some remodeling, upgrade and such. I had an electrician come down and he said the meter lock was gone, called that day, spoke to a person named Kiki and I was told that have my electrician finish the service then call NV back. Had service done, called next day, spoke to Kelly and she scheduled it for next day. I thought it would take weeks but a technician named Dustin M came, very polite and professional and took care of the issue in less than 10 min. Thank you Dustin

If i could give them 0 stars I would. Went to pay my bill because I got a letter in the mail saying my bill was due and seen the payment date had passed. The billing statement was 33 dollars but to my surprise when i went to log in online it was 268. I check the statement online to make sure it wasn't a mistake and that was 33 dollars as well. So i did what anyone else would do and wait on hold for over an hour for the person on the phone to tell me it was from my apartment before i moved. I told him that cannot be right because i paid that balance when i moved into my new place. He placed me on hold and said wait actually it is from an account from 2022. Im sorry 3 years ago. I have had them since they are the worst and only energy company in NV. He was not able to tell me if i owed you guys since than why didn't you guys ever say anything and he wasn't able to answer me. Asked to speak with a supervisor who had the worst attitude and she was not able to say anything but that i could set up a payment arrangement. No I'm sorry nothing just in know it has been 3 years but we tried to reach you. They sent that final bill back in 2022 to the wrong address and expect 3 year later for me to just pay it when it was a mistake on there end

I am giving them 2 stars - and not only 1 which they deserve - because they actually called me when I complained to them but then that alone took SEVERAL complaints before it happened. My HOA rules specifically prohibit my house from putting solar panels on it given its sight profile and location in the neighborhood. In addition to that, I have a very strange cut-up/disjointed roofline which eight solar companies did not even want to consider attempting solar on it. NV Energy is now denying me the Expanded Solar Energy Rate Adjustment credit (which I previously had) even though if I put solar on my roof, I will be fined by the HOA. But NV Energy does not want to hear that from me or probably anybody else.

This company needs to have more communication with customers obviously I Mistakenly didn’t pay my bill on time so they disconnected my electric four hours later still no electric put back on….calling them for updates and all they can tell me if there’s a work order in place and nothing else which is ridiculous. There should be more updates. They should give me a time so I don’t have to sit here and on top of that. I have a sick child that needs a nebulizer treatment every four hours it was turned off in the middle of his treatment and now I’m just sitting around waiting with a child coughing none stop they are a horrible company and do not care only care about money.

I have lived here in washoe valley since 1988. We have had wind gusts literally exceeding 100mph on the valley floor (not the ridges), had portions of our roofing come off and downed limbs etc and never lost power. I understand that CA got sued for not maintaining their lines and/clearing their brush and trees but this absolutely ridiculous. Since end of sept we have had 10 days without power and I can only imagine this winter. We have now purchased a generator for the main house (over 12k dollars) but it’s not connected yet as we are still waiting for our apt with the electrician. Not everyone can afford the cost of a generator. We lost literally thousands of dollars worth of food. At this rate we might as well move and live off grid so as not to depend on the power company anymore (I’m actually pro this but my elderly parents aren’t..). I don’t want to see fires or anyone lose their homes, my point is they need to beef the grid. Perhaps all the extra money from the 1000’s of people moving here in addition to their constant price increases could go towards hardening things a bit… I will say definitively that in the last 5 years or so the quality and dependability of NV Energy has taken an absolute dump. What will others do this winter? Washoe county already outlawed wood burning stoves (thank goodness we are grandfathered in). People who rely on electricity for oxygen or other medical devices and are unable to stock up on batteries or extra tanks are treading a dangerous line. This just seems worse and worse every year and this fall has been absolutely absurd thus far. Again: this winter is going to be horrendous for folks. I don’t know the answers but I think it’s obvious something needs to be done. It’s a problem. It’s a shame that ** ****** is the only power company here bc we would absolutely have gone elsewhere by now.

As a disabled Veteran I cannot understand why as a home owner I have to cover welfare recipients electric bill when I can hardly pay my own I lived all summer without air conditioning because I couldn't afford paying for those who are entitled to it because they receive welfare well maybe you ought to consider people like me who live on a set income I can't work but those you give freebies to I bet can this country sucks of those who have worked there whole life to give to those who have never worked a day in their life so I suffer at 63 years old to help those who don't do anything what a way for these electric and gas company's to exploit those who really need the help

NV Energy told us on 3 separate occasions that we had a planned power outage on November 1st. Here we are, October 31st, Halloween, our wedding anniversary...with no power.

Customer for 20 years paid on time every month. Recently moved, which caused NV Energy to cancel my auto pay. I wasn't informed of anything, just sent to collections.
NV Energy lost my respect and confidence over $150. The pimps of energy.....
