Again, this year, We want to know why there is No Text to Customers regarding upcoming repair work previously on schedule (weeks in advance) by NVEnergy. This is Nuts and dangerous! It is currently 110 degrees and tomorrow is the same. We found a notice on our garage door, which we rarely view, that a Shut Down of Power In 110 degree Weather is for tomorrow! We have signed up to be notified of "ALERTS" by NVE, but interestingly does not work unless it is a Outage that is NOT planned! No kidding! There is No Reason that a NVE cannot give its customers at least 5 day Warning of a scheduled power shut off (in this case for transformer refurbishment). In June 2024 and in RECORD SETTING OVER IN 100 DEGREE WEATHER!! This is Not the First Time over the past 5 years this has happened... We have older family members that need to be taken care of, especially during a RECORD BREAKING HEAT WAVE - our house will be over 80 degrees in 1/2 hour. Again, this is a PLANNED EVENT by NVenergy - it simply has employees tape a small notice on each Garage door 1 or 2 days ahead of time - No Reason At All! Garage Door- which Will Be Unnoticed Often times - if the homeowner does not see it! Sheesh, you'd think they'd put it on the door! We have give our text number to NVEnergy for warnings, etc., but we were told that is ONLY for Alerts, again, NOT for Planned Outages. Now we have a family member whose just gotten out of hospital who should not be moved "to the mall" to keep cool. Give us a break. We are so upset as this continues at NVE whimm...

They over charge, when asked to come check the meter they state since they can get reading remotely then it’s fine. Bill has tripled in two months.

I am a senior citizen who only moved to this town in August, 2019. I moved into the Bay Bridge Apartment Complex and the energy bill was at reasonable cost around $80.00/month including A/C. I pretty much didn't use it that much because I was working part-time. Then I switched to full-time work. Within a few months my energy bill jumped from around $80/month to $197/month even though I worked full-time. I did not leave my A/C on all the time because it can get pretty expensive. Our apartment complex never told us that I would be sharing an A/C unit with 3 other tenant apartments some of whom had other people living with them and I lived alone. I decided to go on NVEnergy's plan where your bill is the same every month because it was getting too expensive. I was never told that when you move that you would get billed for the time you would no longer be there. On their even payment plan they stretch it into 6 payments. Last year, I was told in June, that my bill was going up again and I had planned on moving because the apartment was really awful. I moved in August and expected my last bill of roughly $300. I received a bill of $1,200. They not only expected me to pay that but they attached it to my new apartment so that it looks like I owe that much for my current apartment even though I explained to them that other tenants was sharing the same unit. I asked them to investigate and they did nothing. I cannot afford a bill like that and the State of Nevada ignored my request for help. I do not have the money to pay for this bill which I should not have to pay all of. They are always threatening to turn my service off even though I'm current on my new address. If anyone knows who can help me with this, please let me know. I also asked them to investigate the apartment I previously lived in but they never did. I was borrowing money to give a little extra which only put me into deeper debt.

Worst and Greedy company I have EVER seen and I wish I had another choice for a utility provider. Recently our power was off for a wind event which I could understand but, this happened at 10:30 in the evening and by the next day they kept pushing the times back for it to be on and insisting there were crews on the scene, which there were no crews anywhere around our residential street. Only trucks were City of Sparks and they were all over in emergency mode for stoplights etc. so two nights with freezing temps and a refrigerator with rotting food and the lies and times of repair kept changing ( two power poles down they said at one point) I knew the crews were working in Reno and Carson and I told the operator this at 3am and she finally admitted that the crews were in route!!!! Just as I thought! At 4:13 AM we finally got power does it only take one hour to fix 2 poles? Nope because, as I said no poles were down or lines we were the last to get power because, we live in older Sparks and they could care less and businesses all around us had power including grocery stores and strip malls, even streets connected to ours had power. What a Joke. Never trust them and they would squeeze the last dollar you had out of your dying hand. This company could care less about you UNLESS you have lots of money to back you up.

These people are horribly greedy! Price gouging their customers and if you have trouble paying them, they charge you another deposit! We have paid 3 deposits since living in NV and we've only been here 6 yrs! They are crooks and something needs to be done with them!

Nv energy company should lower its rates because of the lousy service provides!
4 times for ten days we got power outages
When we ask them what is the reason , first they said it’s probably the rainy weather, but we kept getting those power outages even the weather was great, after three different lies at the fourth outage they said they do not know !
We have the suspicion that they have connected to our power grid the newly build community right across our community and they are not telling the truth
I’d like to apply the four reference orders after people called them and complain
*******, *******, *******, ******* We need someone to investigate this company , because this is ridiculous thing to happen in 21-st century and the company should lower the rates and stop lying that they are approving their technologies, it’s obvious that nothing has been improved!
      Shameless lies!
Our community is at Robindale and Lindell On the southwestern Las Vegas

Had multiple issues with this company and reporting them to hopefully spur some change.
      1. About a year ago my power was suddenly cut off (6/6/2022). I called into NV Energy asking what was going on. Their response was my power should be working and I need to check my condo/building for possible issues. I called in an electrician and they confirmed nothing was wrong with my outlets and line but the meter was showing power was cut off. I called NV Energy back and told them about what the electrician said. After “researching” the case for 20-30 minutes they said my power had been “accidentally” cut because someone had requested it. I asked them how could someone else other than the owner (who was me) could do that?
They had no answer and refused to pay my electrician fee ($180).
      2. Today, I discovered that the autopay change I had made on Aug 11 did not take effect for the payment that was pulled on Aug 29. The website showed no indication or message that the change would not be made to that payment after I finished the change on Aug 11. I had to call in after it pulled from the old acct and had to do a credit card payment with service fee. Their customer rep said this is how the system can process these type of changes. No warning or info on their app or website about this when you make the change.
I’m reporting this in case this is a pattern of deceptive and fraudulent behavior that could be happening to other customers.

I own a property in South Las Vegas. I placed service in my name in February 2023. On 2 occasions, once in June and once in August 2023 someone has made an application for service at my address and has managed to have the power turned off. I was on vacation the 2nd time and my fridge was turned off with meat contents decomposing from August 1 to August 16 2023, at 110+ degrees, I called them immediately upon my discovery. NV energy spoke to me as though the problem wasn't with them and finally realized they had turned the power off. They told me I would need a supena to get the facts that transpired in order to seek damages. The fridge is no longer useable due to bio- contamination. I do not have funds to replace at this point.. Sincerely,
      Lee G

NV Energy is doing some creative billing and frankly it's shady with the blessing of an extremely ignorant public utility commission. How is NV Energy getting away with 40% to 50% rate increases in July 2023? No notice to customers. Where is the common sense from the commission in protecting customers? I think many would agree that the commission is no longer interested in protecting the citizens of Nevada. They need to be replaced. Unbelievable bills in July are being made public throughout the state. Customers noticing additional fees listed on their bills that never existed before. These addition rates and fees increase a normal power bill by as much as $500 per month. This is a money grab by a company that has a monopoly over the people of Nevada. We have no other options leaving the citizens at their mercy. Shame on the Public Utility Commission and shame on NV Energy. If I had another option for electricity, I would take it. I encourage fellow customers to make your distain known and voice your opinion.

NVenergy is doing something shady with its billings. Especially with equal pay. I quit equal pay and was paying what I owed for the month after I got roped into paying an additional $400 to satisfy my equal pay account. SW gas also tried this maneuver with their equal pay billing. Always happens when these companies "jack up" all the prices. Totally ridicules! I'm running on 84 degrees in my house and it is still higher than a kite!
