    They sold my debt and still want me to pay for it and now they have multiple accounts on my credit score dragging my score down drastically

    I’m writing to you to make you aware of a situation that happened to me with SUNY Broome Community College. I’m hoping you can help me to resolve this.

    They billed me $2315 for the services I did not receive and did not agree to pay.

    The COMMUNITY COLLEGE REGULATIONS PART 600 DEFINITIONS AND INTRODUCTION (Statutory authority: Education Law,§355,subd.1,par.c), section §602.11 Refund of tuition and fees, Exception(5) states, “Notwithstanding any other provisions for refund, when a student has withdrawn through circumstances beyond his or her control, under conditions in which the denial of refund would cause undue hardship, the chief executive officer of the college may, in his or her discretion, determine that no liability for tuition and fees has been incurred by the student, provided the student has not received or will not receive academic credit for the term. Such action, including the reason therefor, shall be in writing.”

    I believe that this section applies to me because I did not receive proper communication except for one email on 5/25/23. I wasn’t aware of the financial responsibility that comes after filling out the form because, formally, I didn’t register for the class, nor was I notified beyond one email over the course of two months. I have not received any credits from the class nor had access to my accounts because I didn’t think I was registered for the class. With no educational services provided to me, I do not believe that the financial responsibility is fair.

    I want to resolve this situation so that the bill is cancelled because it wasn’t posted correctly in the first place. Filling out SUNY Broome form, the student’s do not know what bill they’re going to be charged. I did not agree to pay the amount listed in the bill, as I did not sign any official documents, not did I provide any confirmation of my identity.

    I tried to enroll in US history undergrad starting 3/27 I was forced to fill out an online application and the class was beginning fast forward two days 3/29 I get an email from an Amanda in admissions saying I have to fill out a paper application. So two days have gone by of class and I'm a graduate student working as a teachers aid with two autistic 4th graders so time is scarce and email is the easiest for me. So now I'm missing two days and must sign papers saying its after add drop and I must acknowledge. So to clarify they staled may enrollment and made me fill out two application two days away on an accelerated class starting at the end of march. I get through this nightmare and I'm given a pin with no password. while trying to log on I put in wrong information and mess up the account. I was not offered help or an option to be talked through the process. I tried to be proactive emailing IT and never got a response. My emails accompany the supporting docs. As you can see I did not hear back from this department at all and now I'm being asked to pay over $1000. I was swindled by this sad excuse for a **** and their unprofessional staff who refuse to communicate within departments and force hard wink people to suffer
