Better Business Bureau investigated 607 Home Improvement, with the initial contact on December 11, 2024, asking the following: proof of licensing in the area of business, list of all locations both physical and remote, if the business if affiliated with other businesses, and some other general background information. As of January 27, 2025, 607 Home Improvement has not responded regarding the questions we have addressed. BBB has concerns about business' practices and urges consumers to use caution based on the lack of responsiveness.

 

Advertising Review

BBB sent correspondence to 607 Home Improvement on December 11, 2024, January 2, January 14, and January 27, 2025 requesting substantiation for advertised claims in their advertising and marketing materials to include the website https://607homeimprovement.com/.

Advertisements should be truthful, sincere offers to sell. Advertisers have a responsibility to have substantiation for all claims made and should be able to provide that substantiation upon request.  

There are multiple statements on all pages of the company website, https://607homeimprovement.com/, stating 25+, over 30 years, three decades, etc. that 607 Home Improvement has been in business. Some examples are as follows:
“With over three decades of experience in delivering high-quality residential services, we've established ourselves as the trusted experts in Binghamton and the surrounding areas.”
“At 607 Home Improvement, we believe in making your dream home a reality. For over 30 years, our experienced team has been delivering high-quality residential construction and remodeling services throughout Binghamton and the surrounding areas.”
Gold badge in advertising stating 25+ years experience.
“About 607 Home Improvement
607 Home Improvement is your trusted partner for all your home renovation needs in Binghamton, NY, and the surrounding areas. With over 30 years of experience,…”
BBB requested proof of business start date over three decades ago. The business provided us with a start date of November 2, 2023.

Advertising states “family owned business”
BBB requested the names of the other family members who own 607 Home Improvement.

The photo’s featured on the home page appear to be stock photo’s or photo’s that are not of the work 607 Home Improvement has done.  The descriptions of work underneath each photo do not match the photo. 
BBB requested that the photo's be replaced with photo's of actual work completed by 607 Home Improvement or disclose that the photo’s are not of work 607 Home Improvement has done.

The gallery page on the website states,
“Our gallery offers a glimpse into our completed projects, showcasing our expertise in residential construction, home renovation, house remodeling, and custom home improvements.”
And
“Our gallery features a carefully curated selection of projects, with each project represented by one thoughtfully chosen photo. As trusted local home contractors, we’re committed to delivering superior home upgrade services that meet the unique needs of each homeowner. From minor updates to major transformations, every image captures the results we achieve through skilled craftsmanship and a dedication to excellence.”
All of these photo's appear to be from websites of other businesses. BBB requested that the business replace the photo's with work that was actually done by 607 Home Improvement.

The F.A.Q.’s page of the website states the following:
“How do I choose the right contractor for my home improvement project?
When hiring local home contractors, it’s important to research their experience, reputation, and past projects. At 607 Home Improvement, we pride ourselves on being trusted local home contractors with years of experience and a proven track record in delivering high-quality home remodeling services. Always ask for references and ensure that the contractor is licensed and insured.”
BBB requested proof of being a trusted local home contractor with years of experience and a proven track record as the business start date is November 2, 2023.
BBB has been unable to locate any licensing for the business.

To date, the business has not responded to our request.
