      I sent a an engagement ring and wedding band to Gemesti for them to possibly purchase from me. The possible purchase price was between $800 to $1200. I sent the ring off within a few days of the promised price. A few days later, *** called and offered me $600. I told him absolutely not. At that point he said let me see what I can do. The price then was increased to the $800 with the reason that the value of diamonds decreased (almost 25%) in a matter of a few days. At that time I declined the offer and asked the ring to be returned to me. On November 1, 2022, I received a large ***** box with a smaller *** box inside with a flat *** envelope inside with a small EMPTY blue envelope inside. I immediately sent *** a text with multiple pictures showing the empty boxes and envelope. At that time, he reassured me that there would be an investigation and that everything would be fine. It is not 2 weeks later and I have no updates other than the investigation is still ongoing. At this time, I have been offered $3000 for someone to purchase the ring via ********* but can't complete the sale. Whenever I ask, I get the same answer that this takes time. It sounds like the run around and I am beginning to think I will never see the rings or the money.

      **************** did inform our team immediately upon receiving her return shipment, claiming her packaging was empty and did not contain her rings.

       

      Our team immediately began to investigate and gather all necessary information to properly file a claim with ******* of ****** Insurance and our shipping affiliate, *******************.

      We have responded to every request promptly, and kept in touch with **************** throughout the process and investigation.

      The communication from ******************* and ****** of ****** Insurance indicated the full investigation may take anywhere from 1-3 months.

       

      The Gemesti team partners with, and utilizes Professional and trusted third party teams for movement of every item. ******************* ring was delivered successfully to the *** *******, in LA. *** provided full report details of the rings, to which we always base our final cash offers. In this case, the specific details of the item are what caused the final offer for the item to fall below our initial estimated offer. We care about happy clients, and want them all to be pleased with the cash offer; so we increased our offer to match a previous offer she received from an auction setting, even though our team would not profit from the sale.

       

      In Gemesti's two years of operation, this is the first incident of a lost item in shipping. The Gemesti team, if a deal is not finalized, never has a hand in the transportation of goods. We utilize ***** priority overnight shipping, insure each package fully with ******* of ****** Insurance through *******************, and ship to the *** *******. In cases like this, ***** picks the package back up from ***, and packages are shipped priority overnight directly back to the customer.

       

      We assured ***************, and assure the BBB now, that all necessary steps and procedures are being followed to investigate this incident.
