      worst bank ever, I will tell everyone. My dad had a stroke, my mother has power of attorney.
      Basically, I had a large bill to pay, I have online banking with no physical location I can go to and I was having issues with paying this bill. I ended up giving the cash to my mom, so she could deposit it, and I could use my dads account to simply pay the bill. should have not been an issue. I paid part of my bill as it was a large sum over 4,000. and I understand most banks have restrictions on how much you can spend of your own hard earned cash. so I paid a portion of it that day, and planned on paying the second the following day. the bank kept declining the payment, my mother called, they would not allow the payment to go through or give her information despite that she submitted her POA, she happened to be visiting my dad in the hospital, he spoke with them, and they STILL would not approve it!! on HIS OWN ACCOUNT WITH HIS PERMISSION. not only that, the lady hung up on my mom!! now I cannot pay a time sensitive bill because your bank is dictating my money.

      No stars I've been dealing with my account being blocked. I've been to the branch in Union and haven't heard anything since Tuesday. I explained the reason why my account is blocked and still no response. I'm cancelling my account Monday. This is very unprofessional of you as a bank to keep someone's money without contacting them!!!!

      Shady practices and they lie to you. If you are late on your payment they send a shady dude to video your property and he walks up to the door pretends to ring the door bell. He puts a notice on the door. The takes a picture. Takes the notice off the door and walks off. You never know he is there. Unless you have cameras like I do. So creepy and so shady.

      Recently, M & T Bank took over peoples bank (Farmington Branch) and since then the service has gone downhill rapidly. About two weeks ago actually more than that I was told my accounts were frozen because of possible fraud. They were trying to say someone was logging into my account online even though it was me! I tried to explain to them that I forgot my password and was locked out and when I went to verify my name for whatever reason the bank had a different middle initial than I have on all my IDs. I was in the bank multiple times for more than two hours at a clip trying to resolve it. Finally, we closed out the two accounts I had. They told me to open a new one but it could only be under my name. The original accounts had both my husband and my name on them yet for some reason they were still blocking my husband from being on a new account with me. Couldn’t tell me why even though I was in the bank again multiple times getting multiple excuses from the current manager Christine but no resolution. Then to add insult to injury I received a letter saying that they will no longer be able to conduct business with me concerning the two accounts that I closed. that’s fine I don’t really care, but I still don’t have an answer and they are saying that if I have other accounts with them I need to close them by December 13.th!!! How rude that they are telling me they can no longer conduct business with me!!! I’ve had those accounts since 1985, and if you checked my history when I was single I had accounts with that bank since before then! Because of their incompetence and stupidity, this is there a way of getting around having to deal with me! M&T is the absolute worst bank I’ve ever dealt in personally and for my businesses! I want an apology from the Farmington branch immediately!

      I’m having an issue with sending money via ***** through M And T Bank. I called the number that was suggested when they sent me a message. Waited 32 minutes. And a person by the name of Shawanda answered. And proceeded to ask me my account number, the first five numbers of my Social Security number, and then wanted to know what my pin name was. This is suspicious because I’ve given her very pertinent and secured information. When I asked about why I was now being asked to give my pin name, she said, I’m not going back-and-forth on this, and proceeded to hang up on me. What kind of bank customer service is this? I would say suspicious.

      Today about 12noon I went into M&T Bank on Frederick Road, Germantown Maryland to cash a check. The teller asked if I had an account my reply was no I did not. His response was "you have to pay a fee" I asked how much it was and he replied it would be twenty dollars. My response was "Twenty dollars, thats robbery" this teller became extremely angry stating "thats the amount you have to pay if you don't have an account" I give him twenty dollars for the fees and asked for the money in fifties and hundred dollar bills. He give me all hundreds and them tried to charge me additional fees to change some of the hundreds into fifty dollar bills. I refuse to pay the extra fees stating "I did asked for fifties and hundreds" his reply was I can only change one of the hundreds for a fee. This was very disturbing because I was charged to cash the check now I'm being charged to change the bills.
      I asked to speak to a manger but was told he is in a meeting, I left the bank because that is not a place to become angry or loud and called from outside, the female who answered the phone refused to give me her name, told me the manager is STILL in the meeting then proceeded to hang up the phone while I was still speaking to her.

      Ever since M&T took over ******** United Bank in CT, my debit card number has been stolen twice. I have had to pay $35 for a replacement each time. The reason why I am complaining, is because I NEVER use my ATM card, for anything. Actually, it is locked in my safe at all times. I've never even used it for emergencies and yet, somehow, someone has gotten and used my debit card number twice. I truly feel it is someone from the inside. And if not, maybe a hacker. Regardless, I KNOW it is on no fault of my own, yet, I'm the one paying for the replacement card and having to take time from my busy schedule to go to the bank to report this. When you do report it, the tellers don't care at all. They make you sign some paperwork and charge you for the replacement. The fact that it has happened twice, shows me nothing is changing. This bank can't handle it's own security. Never happened once in the 27 years I had a ******** acct. And now that I've been with M&T a year, it's happened twice.

      Fraud alert deactivates my card, no problem I'll just go to an M&T branch and get a temp....oh wait they don't give temp cards so now I have to go to the bank everyday to get cash for my business. Closed on Sunday guess I'm screwed. I miss ******** Bank now I got this crap.

      Fraud support is a joke, takes them 1 hour minimum to pick up the phone and then when they say the problem is resolved they lie nothing gets fixed and you have to call them again and it takes another hour to get on the phone with them. Do not use this bank it’s a joke.

      I want to give a big shout-out the Ethan at the Broadway location in Buffalo NY. He went above and beyond to help my elder father set up his ***** account through the M&T banking mobile app. He also made sure that the transaction was processed before my father left the bank. That was excellent customer service. In this day and age where technology handles a lot of our banking interactions, it's really good to know that you can count on employees like Ethan to provide that personal touch. Excellent job sir.
