    I have 20 boxes / bags of almost new items I wanted to donate. Can't tell you how many times I had to call. Spoke to very rude people who seem to now care.

    First time I called the girl asked how many bags as they have to have room on the truck for each stop. After going through everything I called back and told her I had a total of 20. She said that is fine and to have them outside for the morning pick up. I also asked if they could leave a receipt and she said yes they will at the door.

    They came , left no receipt and let a adult walker and 5 boxes. ( never even went through them.

    I called them back was hung up on twice and the last girl put me on hold and transferred me to a voice mail. I had to leave a message. hours later, still no call back and I have to know bring the bags back in. I feel like I am stepping on eggs shells around these people even though my family has support them of r over 40 years. Wondering if Amvets is worth this much of a bother, if they don't care why should I ! Very rude people. I also do not appreciate being talked down to and scolded as I had 20 bags to donate.

    I called again this morning and had to leave another message. As of now I still have no receipt, items left and no calls back.

    BBB spoke to Mike at the business and the following was relayed:

    I did speak with the customer on the phone and offered to email her a receipt. I am unable to send her a receipt by mail. There was a receipt left originally when the items were picked up on her porch. The items that were left behind are things that we do not accept.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

    [There was no receipt anywhere.  The items they left were new.  I had clothes and jackets with tags still on, toys in the box and housewares never used - all new stuff and a Walker.  They cry for donations but won't take what they are offered.  I do NOT appreciate them lying and the service I was given.  What is wrong with new items??I will never be donation to them again after this.
