BBB sent correspondence to Serious Goose, LLC on April 21, April 28, and May 5, 2025, regarding concerns with raffles that the business is conducting. These raffles are advertised on the company Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61557582308124, the website https://seriousgoose.store/, and possibly at the store location.


Since that time, the business has been very responsive, has stopped selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a prize, and has implemented a "Mystery Box" promotion. There are serveral mystery boxes available at different price points, and one of the boxes may contain a "gift card" for the current item in the store that will be awarded to the peson who purchases that mystery box.


These "Mystery Box" promotions may still be considered a game of chance as they contain the 3 elements of prize, consideration (purchasing of the mystery box), and the chance to win.


According to BBB's Code of Advertising #33. Contests and Games of Chance or Skill



33.2 Contests, drawings or other games of chance that involve the three elements of prize, chance and consideration constitute lotteries, in violation of U.S. federal and state statutes and must not be conducted. Canadian law contains similar prohibitions.
