It was Sunday August 27th, when I opened my bathroom faucet to notice hot water wasnt working. Glancing at my ******* ES2 hydronic boiler in the basement, I noticed an error message displaying 55. That code was related to the air draft damper being at fault according to the label on the control panel board. I turned off and on the heating system, that indirectly heated up my hot water tank, as an attempt to reset the system and found the damper was operating properly. So the next possible issue that came to my mind was the control panel itself. I purchased the control panel part # ******-02 from an authorized online dealer by the name of Supplyhouse.com and it arrived factory sealed on Tuesday August 29th. The installation of the part was like a Lego so easy and fast, plug out plug in, but it didnt take long to get convinced that control panel was not the issue because the panel kept showing the same error message, code 55.The following day on Wednesday, my wife remembered a local heating company named Systematic Control Corporation, that several years prior was helpful identifying a blown fuse, and decided to reach out to them for advice. They quoted a diagnostic fee of $195 over the phone and sent ** (technician) to my house. He drove into my driveway without asking if he could have parked there. After going down to my basement, he was asked to move his vehicle because it was blocking my sons car and obviously this wasted some of his time. When the issue seemed to be beyond his knowledge and expertise, ** started making phone calls to some people like the main office and later on ******* technical support trying to remotely find out what the problem might have been but no one could offer him any assistance. Then, ** suggested to the ******* representative that perhaps the control panel was at fault and hung up. My wife told ** that my husband had already replaced the control board with no success but he insisted that the brand new part # ******-02 which we recently purchased from Supplyhouse.com needed replacement and was defective. Trying to avoid confrontation and giving the benefit of the doubt, my wife paid him what he demanded in full in the amount of $275, not the original price of $195 but extra because he claimed it was a difficult diagnosis and took extra time.I wasted my time contacting *************** and ******* (********* **** to go through warranty exchange as per ** claim that the new control panel was defective, during my work hours. Finally the second control panel board came in a few days later. After the second control panel arrival and installation, the boiler kept showing the same errors message 55. I called Systematic Control Corporation on Wednesday September 6th to discuss the situation and *** made an appointment for a technician to come the next day between the hours of 1 to 4 PM. On Thursday, no technician came in. I contacted Systematic control again and ****** told me my appointment was for Friday between 1 and 4 PM. When Friday no technician showed up again, I called systematic control and a lady picked up the phone. I asked to speak to a service manager then, but was transferred to ****** who promised a senior technician would come on Saturday after lunch at about 1:30 PM.No technician came on Saturday September 9th.On Sunday out of desperation, I went back to the basement and kept looking around and then checked the boiler wiring and found some loose ones and tightened the junctions and my boiler started working again normally.I called systematic control corporation to inform them of the good news but no one seemed to care. I explained that ** the technician misdiagnosed my boiler problem and he even misled me to believe that the new control panel was defective also and forced me to waste so much of my time by reordering that replacement part for a second time plus systematic control company not keeping appointments and not showing up, therefore a diagnostic fee refund should be considered. When I explained the scenario to the general manager by the name of ***, he rudely did not apologize and instead said that his company do not offer refunds and was going to keep my money. I found this dishonest customer service and negligent treatment disgusting. Taking advantage of someones trust is shameful and not right.
