      I had Collie Roofing put a new roof on my townhouse in Chadwick Square, Glenmont 4 years ago. Recently my wife and I needed to move to another home that is all on one floor. So we put the townhouse up for sale.
      The new buyers of our home had a home inspection done. The inspector's overall report on our home can best be characterized as "over-zealous". He was "one of those" inspectors. He wrote up lots of minor red flags that in the end amounted to nothing and which we were not required to fix in order to sell. But he wrote up one issue related to the roof that gave us pause. And one issue with the siding that that made us shake our heads. He took a few photos of a couple of like-new roof shingles where the nail heads were slightly raised. He also complained that some small areas of the siding had greenish growth on them: All homes in this area get that sooner or later and a house wash every few years takes care of it. I called Collie Roofing and emailed them the entire inspection report. The owner, Charles, called me back promptly and personally came and inspected the roof. A few days later his crew arrived, nailed down the few nails/shingles that needed it AND THEY WIPED OFF THE FEW GREEN SPOTS ON THE SIDING. He had no responsibility for the siding but he took care of it. And this was 4 years after the installation. He stood by his work. The buyers stopped their complaining and the sale went through smoothly. I appreciate what he did.

      We had Collie Roofing repair our roof, and I use 'repair' loosely, because three years later, we are seeing damage and leaks. It turns out that Collie Roofing used the wrong materials and was unqualified to work on our roof. We are now paying thousands of dollars to reverse the damage of the wrong approach and wrong materials.

      Had Charles S*****, the owner, to the house to give me an estimate on a new roof. Later he sent me a “quote,” which he later labeled a “rough quote,” with the barest, and I mean BAREST, of particulars for $22,000. Along with the quote he included the logos of *** **** ** ********* ******* ** ******** and your organization. I can find him listed as a member of neither. Please advise.

      Excellent company that did an amazing job on both my home and garage roofs Also sided on my garage. I have nothing but excellent things to say about Collie Builders! Work crews were always here on time, diligent workers, efficient, courteous, professional, thoroughly cleaned up their work areas and always put in the extra effort. I highly recommend Collie Builders.
